Intel I7-2600k overclock gives bad temp
If I am overclocking the Intel I7-2600k processor that I have then I am getting hugh temeperature readings. I have been using 1.4v and have reached till 4.8ghz but am getting extremely high temperature of about 90C? I have tried to reset it many times and am using ARCTIC MX-3 thermal compound as well. What could be the issue here? Please help
Re: Intel I7-2600k overclock gives bad temp
90C temperature is considered to be pretty high. It seems to me that your CPU fans might not be getting cool air that is needed for perfoming their job to the maximum. However, can you try to use RealTemp and see if you are getting the same temperature reading with this software as well. Let us know the results in your next reply.
Re: Intel I7-2600k overclock gives bad temp
You can try to lower down the heat by just cutting off a few hundred Mhz's and then check the temperature if it is suitable or not. If you do not want to do this then you will need to read some article on how to re-apply thermal paste on the CPU or perhaps you can use a better CPU cooler and fit it in the computer case.
Re: Intel I7-2600k overclock gives bad temp
Are you using any good cooler in your CPU? If yes then check if it is workng fine or not. There could be also some issues with the Chip that might be running hot. Try to use a push-pull cooler that will help to reduce more temperature keeping the CPU less hot. Try to check the fans and ensure that they are working fine in the case.
