network issue with oracle virtualbox
i have installed kubuntu either 12.04 or 12.10
I not sure which because I am tired
i think that it is the latter version
It wont install any apps at all or get any network access at all but virtualbox has an active network Icon so I not sure what went wrong but I gonna try a different linux distro in virtualbox and see if it works then but i want to use xubuntu so if anyone can help that would be awesome.
hope u guys can help me with my issue
Re: network issue with oracle virtualbox
What kind of applications are you trying to install on kubuntu? Usually by some command line you are suppose to install the applications or any packages. The command is something like sudo apt-get install with the package name. And how exactly do you want to use xubuntu, either by freshly installing it or in virtualbox?
Re: network issue with oracle virtualbox
in virtualbox
and openJDK
but it says "Could Not get install info"
and the network icon in xubuntu keeps saying connected than 2 mins later says not connected
right now i am triing linux mint 12 on a different computer and it can work fine
Re: network issue with oracle virtualbox
Can you please let us know first, which linux distro are you using, whether xubuntu or kubuntu, because in the first post you have written you were not able to install apps on kubuntu? Have you tried to reinstall the software:
sudo apt-get purge (software name) & sudo apt-get install (software name)
