No ipconfig file.
I have an older Gateway computer that i formatted C drive. Bought a new windows XP to install on it. Everything is up till I try to get on the internet. went to run typed (cmd) dos window (C:\Documents and settings\ Me>) typed in (ipconfig) Windows IP Conguration comes up and (C:\Documents and settings\ Me>) no ip numbers. I do not have any thing on my desk top. Have tryed everything but this new XP will not find the IP. Will any ipconfig from any XP work??? (seen that in a post????) i have tryed everything they did on Brain A. 03/08/2008.So how do I get my IP numbers??? Please Help.

Well, first of all you didnt say us which Internet Service Provider service are you using? Normally, when you take internet services then you will get the ip address and all the other DNS details from those ISP's which you need to set up Local Area Connection network. Have you done the same or not, please report us back.
