You will have to repair the Grub bootloader and for that you will have to boot from a Ubuntu Live CD. From the Live CD, just open terminal and run the below commands:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair
boot-repair
After that a window will pop-up, here just use Recommended repair option.

If the one I have is live cd, then here is the message I get " Boot failure...press any key to continue " tried to press all the keys and getting the same message again and again.

The live cd that you have downloaded from the ubuntu website comes in the Iso format which you need to burn as a bootable disc. But depending upon the system that you have, whether its windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit, or other amd or intel machine, you have to download the proper version for same. You can find the ubuntu releases from this website - http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/
