Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
what about the asrock H61M see it on flipkart it has
1)two usb 3.0s
2)pciex16 3.0
3)two sata 6gb/s header
4)four 3gb/s headers (and it has intel h61 chipset)
usb ports dont matter as i never have more than 1 usb in :rofl_2:
it has 1 pciex16 slot which is enough for my 1 graphic card
and what is this graphic boost does it mean my graphic card wont be able 2 run at its max?
and what is ssd :thumbup1:
thank all of ull very much
Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
Hi noob1016,
Yes, ASRock H61M-PS2 has three expansion slots for graphic cards. The first one is the normal PCI slot, the second one is PCI-E x 1 and the third one is PCI-E x16. The normal PCI slot will connect almost every graphic card that is released within last two years. The PCI-E x1 slots will also support all the latest graphic cards and is built for future graphic cards. The third PCI-E slot, that is, PCI-E x16 slot is given so that you can run the old graphic cards as well. You can run graphic cards as old as six years old that had memory space of 128 mb or so on. You can have two different graphic cards in your computer and have them attached in any two of the slots. But if the models of both the graphic cards, then they won’t work simultaneously. You will need to internally switch them as per your use.
Since you are noob in knowledge of hardware, I will explain you the difference between the slots in short and simple language. The only difference between these three slots is the amount of voltage they take in. Depending on this voltage intake, they will restrict their usage. So in a slot with low voltage consumption, you will get low data output. So, PCI-E x16 has lowest voltage consumption as it needs to support old graphic cards. So if you connect a graphic card with memory space of 2 GB in PCI-E x16 slot, then maybe it will perform like a graphic card of memory space of 1.5 GB. For latest graphic card, you can connect them in PCI-E x1 or normal PCI-E slot as it has a good voltage intake. For high end graphic cards, you will need a good level of PSU.
SSD is abbreviation for Solid State Drive. It is a mass storage device like Hard Disk. SSD is fast replacing Hard disk as it provides faster data transfer and more security. As in hard disk we had rotating diskettes which read and write data, SSD doesn’t have any such moving parts. It stores data on NAND based flash memory and doesn’t need power supply to retain memory. You can read more details on Wikipedia as it will help you understand concept of SSD in depth. Also for your level knowledge, just remember that you can use SSD instead of hard disk. But I won’t tell you to jump on it just because it is advanced. Some games have been reported to be not working on it.
Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
According 2 Wikipedia
Per lane (each direction):(that is pcie x1)
v1.x: 250 MB/s (2.5 GT/s)
v2.x: 500 MB/s (5 GT/s)
v3.0: 1 GB/s (8 GT/s)
v4.0: 2 GB/s (16 GT/s)
16 lane slot (each direction):(that is pcie x16)
v1.x: 4 GB/s (40 GT/s)
v2.x: 8 GB/s (80 GT/s)
v3.0: 16 GB/s (128 GT/s) <<so what i understand is this is the latest.
but u say it is slowest for old cards
plz explain i m confused
Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
Actually, PCIE x16 give the maximum output and graphics card based for same give good gaming performance and such as well. The problem with asrock H61M is that it doesnt support Raid but has many additional features as compared to the Intel DH67VR. So if you are not excited about raid setup to boost up hdd performance, then it is ok to go with asrock board.
Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
so:unsure:does that mean kunal r one was wrong? (no offence)
what is raid? what speed difference between raid and no raid :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy
and i just found the "more" button bellow all smiles :animated_ yeah!
Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
In simple terms:
- No RAID - One uses his/her hard drive as multiple and separate disks
- RAID - One combines his/her multiple drives as single disk, here files gets split in to both drives evenly and automatically which basically helps in increasing the read/write speed.

Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
Yes you will definitely get those component cheaper from local store's rather than online stores. I am aware of lamington and my friends have been buying such product's from there. Just make sure you are not leaving warranty for the sake of saving some bucks :whistling . Best of luck. :thumbup1:

Re: Intel DH67VR vs ASRock H61M-PS2
in asrock h61m in other connectors section there is
1x IR header
1x CIR header
and power fan connector
what are they ?
thanks
