Overclocking Intel I7 2700k on Asus Maximus Extreme-z
I am desktop user and I was trying to overclock my cpu Intel i7 2700k on Asus maximus Extreme-z. I am not computer geek so I don’t have much knowledge about this. But I read somewhere after doing overclocking the speed of operating system get increased. I wanted to increase my operating system speed, so if anyone knows how to do overclocking please guide me with this.
My system specs are as follows:
- Asus Maximus Extreme-z
- CPU: Intel I7 2700k
- RAM: 8 GB DDR3
- PSU: iball 1800 w

Yes, overclocking help you to speed up your operating system as well as improves your pc’s performance. Overclocking is very difficult process but you can do it with below mentioned steps:
Restart your system and enter Bios. Now go to the AI Tweaker and select Overclock Tuner manual. Once you there set the BCLK/PEG Frequency to 100. You also need to set Maximum Turbo ratio setting to 44.
Now move ahead to DRAM timing and manually set the values of first 5 settings, the value you will find on DDR3 RAM.They are CAS Latency, RAS to CAS Delay, RAS Pre Time, RAS Act Time and DRAM Command Mode.
Go back to AI Tweaker and select voltage by scrolling below. Here you need to set CPU voltage to manual and it should be set to value to1.22.
Once you done with this, go to DRAM voltage and Change the voltage as specified on your DDR3 RAM. Now move ahead to enhance CPU setting and disable speedstep.
Thats it. You are almost done. Just save and get out of BIOS.
