Getting error Warning while connecting to session manager with Debian
I have installed Debian on my computer. I got following error message
‘debian:/# gedit /etc/fstab
(gedit:6807): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are
supported and host-based authentication failed.
debian:/#'
while executing gedit /path/filename command. Can you tell me what is wrong happening in my situation? I am waiting for your quick response. Thanks a lot in advance.
Re: Getting error Warning while connecting to session manager with Debian
Tell me if you are able to login on X session. Check and confirm whether following lines are available at /etc/network/interfaces directories.
Code:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
Also post the log file of login manager by using following.
Code:
cat /var/log/gdm/\:0.log
as far as solutions are concerned I recommend following solutions. Run
Press enter and type root password when it is prompted.
Code:
gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Re: Getting error Warning while connecting to session manager with Debian
you can solve the issue by running su command with –l option. While editing .profile or .bashrc you will need to enter option manually. In order to resolve the issue by installing gvfs-bin and gvfs-backends though synaptic package manager. The main reason to happening of this particular issue is that above mentioned packages were removed accidentally from the system.
