Device not accepting address 4, error -110 with Debian Squeeze
My computer is powered by Debian. I got above mentioned error message’ device not accepting address 4, error -110’ while booting the system. I let you know that operating system installed on my external hard drive. tell me if you had noticed same issue? Feel free to post if you are having any solution to overcome the same. Thanks a lot in advance.
Re: Device not accepting address 4, error -110 with Debian Squeeze
Looking at the situation, you should run following command on Linux Rescue mode.
copy and past the output of the same over here.
Also you should provide content of device.map file
Code:
chroot /mnt/sysimage
fdisk -l
less /boot/grub/device.map
as far as solutions are concerned try the following and let me know whether it worked for you.
Simply change ‘/dev/sda1’ to ‘/dev/sda’
Also try to unload module ehci_hcd by running following command.
Code:
modprobe -r ehci_hcd
if you don’t wanted to do that simply blacklist the same.
Code:
/etc/hotplug/blacklist
Re: Device not accepting address 4, error -110 with Debian Squeeze
Powered Hub should not be powered by motherboard. We know that USB hub on motherboard will not be able to generate enough amount of power supply so that one can external hard disk. There is need of troubleshooting in case you are not having external hub.
Remove all the usb devices which are connected with computer and mount the same. After that try to transfer large files at that time only ‘dmesg’ and see whether you are getting something suspecting. So it could be the most common root cause of the issue so go through it thoroughly and let me know whether it was useful to you.
