Using the Clock

About the HTC Clock widget

You can use the clock widget to see the date, time and even you can check the location. And if you would like to know the time of different cities you can also check it out in clock widget.

How to change the location on the Clock widget

Current weather is been displayed by the Clock widget. You can even adjust the clock widget on the home display to see the weather of some other location. For doing this you will have to press and hold the Clock widget and at the same time you will have to drag it to edit button. And after doing that you can even choose the city which you would like to see. And if you are not able to see any of the country which you are basically looking for than you would have to click on the plus icon and then search for that company and after you get it just click on add and it will be added. Now as it is added just click on the Done option so that the changes which you have done has been saved. Let me tell you that you can even add 2-3 clock widgets on your phones Home screen

About the Clock app

The Clock app can offer more than just display the date and time. Use the display of HTC One X as world clock; you can adjust it with the time in cities around the world. You can also monitor your alarm clock or stopwatch with the time of the timer. Now you would have to click on the main menu icon on the home screen and after that you will have to click on the Clock. Now you will just have to click on the bottom row and if you don’t want to do that you can even slide your figure on the screen to just change different functions.


How to set your home city

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon from the world clock tab tap then you will have to select the Hone settings. Now after doing that you will have to insert your city name. And to find your home city name you will have to scroll down the list which would be displayed and then select it.

How to set the date and time manually

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon from the world clock tab and there you will find the Local time setting in that list. Now over here you will have to disable the automatic day and time zone and after doing that you will have to select the time zone, date and even the time as you need.

How to add a city to the World Clock screen

For doing this you will have to click on the plus icon from the world clock tab. Now after doing that you will have to insert the name of the city which you would like to add.

How to set an alarm

If you would like to set more than one alarm you can follow this all steps: First you will have to go to alarm tab and over there you will have to select the alarm and then after doing that you will have to set the alarm. Now when you set alarm you just need to roll the wheel by your finger to set the perfect time of alarm. And if you would like to repeat the alarm then you will have to select the Repeat option and then you can just adjust the alarm as per your requirements. After doing all this things you just have to click on Done button so that all the setting which you have done can be saved. I would like to give you some tips: If you want to switch off the alarm you just have to disable the check button of that alarm. And if you would like to add more alarm you just have to click on the plus icon so that you can add as many alarms as you can.

How to delete an alarm

For doing this you will have to click on the dustbin icon on the alarm tab. Just choose the alarm which you would like to delete by clicking on it and then clicking on delete option which would appear after that.

Weather App:

How to check Weather

Use the weather application and the widget to display the present weather conditions and weather forecast for some more days. Not only that much you can also check the weather conditions of other cities all over the world. For doing this you will have to click on the main menu icon form the home screen and over there you will have to select Weather option. Now after choosing that you will be seeing options regarding hourly and four-day forecasts which would be seen. Now when you are seeing the weather forecasts you can also do following things like: you can also check weather conditions of different cities by going up and down. You will have to click on the refresh icon so that it can update the information regarding the weather. You can also click on the screen to see the information about temp, approx time of sunrise and many more things. And let me tell you that the setting which you would be doing in the weather application would also be applied in your clock and as well as your calendar.

How to add a city to the Weather screen

Add the weather window of other places, so that you get the weather predictions for these places immediately. In addition to your current location, the weather window will display up to 15 places. Now for doing this you will have to click on the plus icon from the weather screen and after doing that you will have to insert the location which you would like to add. After doing that you will just have to click on the city which you would like to add.

How to change the order of cities on the Weather screen
For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines from the home screen and after that you will have to click on the edit option. Now after doing that you will just have to press and hold the three horizontal lines icon and then you just have to place it to the place which you would like to add. And after all the setting you have made you just have to click on Done option.

How to delete cities from the Weather screen

Now for doing that you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and there you will have to click on the Weather screen and click on Edit option. Now after doing that you will have to select the cities which you would like to remove so just by clicking on them you can remove it and after doing it you will have to click on Done option so that you can save all the changes which you have already made.

How to view a PDF

Use the PDF viewer to view downloaded or copied PDF file to the HTC One X. for doing this you will have to click on the main menu screen and from the home screen and over there you will have to click on the PDF Viewer option. After doing this you will have to browser the file which you require to open from the PDF viewer main screen. Slide your finger across the screen up and down to move the pages and to scroll through. Now just run your thumb and your index finger on the page together or apart to zoom in or out. After doing this you can just click on the three vertical lines icon and to print the file and even share it and many more things.

How to work on documents

Use Polaris Office if you would like to edit Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and even normal text files would be easy to handle.
Tip: Not only that much you can even see Microsoft Office PowerPoint presentations.
For doing that you just have to click on the main menu icon form your phone home screen and in that you will have to select Polaris Office.

How to view a document

Look in the Polaris Office main window for the file you want to see and open it. And for doing that you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon when you are seeing the file list for sorting or refreshing it.

How to create a document

For doing this you will have to click on the plus icon from the Polaris Office main window now after doing that you will have to select a file type which you would like to create. After creating that you will have to start typing the things which you would like to add in it. Now after you have completed you just have to click the lesser than sign icon and then click on the Save option so that it will save all you’re changed which you have made.

How to edit a document

Look in the Polaris Office main window for the file you want to see and open it. Now for this you can do many different things like: Now if it is a Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint or a simple text file you will have to click on edit option. And if it is a Excel sheet then you will have to choose a cell and then just insert which you would like to edit in the text box. Now after doing that just go across the toolbar at the bottom to choose various editing functions. Now if the toolbar is not visible then you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and then you will have to select the toolbar. Now once you have completed with the changes you will have to press the less than sign icon and after that you will have to click on any one of the option (Save or Save as.)

How to edit a presentation

You will have to click on the edit option while you are on Microsoft Office PowerPoint document. Now after doing that you will have to click on the next file icon which will take to another slide and just by clicking on that file you will be able to edit it. You can do many more thinks like the following things: If you would like to add a new slide you just have to click on the screen with a plus icon on it and after that you while just have to select the layout which you would like. Now if you would like to edit anything you will just have to double click on text box on the presentation. Now if you would like to adjust the size of any text box or any image you will have to click on that image or the text box and drag it with the drag icon.

You can also use the tool bar which is located at the bottom to just edit the presentation. Now after you have done all these things if you would like to see the presentation you will just have to click on the play option and the presentation would start. Now as you have completed with your work just click on the lesser than sign icon and then select Save or Save as option as you want.

How to edit a worksheet

Now for doing this you will have to click on a cell in worksheet when the Microsoft Excel file is opened. Now here also you can do many more things like: You can click on the formula bar and just enter the symbols, figures or text. Now if you would like to enter the function you will have to click on the “fx” icon. If you would like to choose more than one cell then you will have to choose any one cell and then drag to the cell which you would like to select. You can click on any cell and then click on the three vertical lines icon if you would like to change the format of any value or any text.

If you would like to add any graphics you will have to choose the data which you would like to enter and then just click on the three vertical lines and then go to insert option and in that you will have to click on Chart option. You can also use the tool bar which is located at the bottom to just edit the worksheet. Now as you have completed with your work just click on the lesser than sign icon and then select Save or Save as option as you want.

How to take notes

If you would like to write down any kind of things you can always use the Notes. You can also do many things like you can attach a picture or a sound file and you can type any kind of text not only that much you can also link the notes to a meeting event.

How to create a notebook

On the Main window of the application notes you will have to click on the dropdown box to open a menu and then you will have to click on New Notebook. Now you will have to type a notebook title. And after doing that you will have to click on the Local notebook so that it can be saved on HTC One X. Not only that much you can also click on the Synchronized notebook option so that it can synchronize the note which you would like to sync with your Evernote account. After all this just click on Create option. Now if you would like to open or change to any other notebook you will just have to click on the dropdown box and after that you will have to click on notebook name.

How to move notes

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon when you are seeing any note and then you just have to click on Move to option. Now you will have to choose the place where you would like to move the notes.

How to compose a note

For doing that you will have to click on the plus icon when a notebook is opened. Now after doing that just give a title to that note. Now when you compose the note you can do the following things like: You can just click on the note and then you will have to start writing over there. You can also click on the red dot icon to start and stop recoding. You can also click on the three vertical lines icon and in there you can select and attach any file. You can also click on the paint brush icon to draw any thing in the note.

You can also insert a photo in the note just by click on the camera icon. Now after you have done all these things you just have to click on the three vertical line icon and in that you will have to click on Save option to save the file and the changes you have made. Now if you would like to link any note to any event you will have to again click on the three vertical line icon and in that you will have to click on Calendar.

How to create a drawing

You can create a drawing, a sketch or picture and insert it in your note. For doing this you will have to click on the paintbrush icon while you have opened a note. Now you just have to select a color which you would like to use. Now you can draw on the note where you find the place just by using your figure. Now if by any change you have made a mistake in drawing and if you would like to erase it that you will have to select a erase icon and erase the stuffs which you would like to remove. Not only that much you can also click on the three vertical line icon and in that you will find Undo option which can be use to remove your last action. Now you just have to click on save option to save your work in a note.

How to import a Web page to a note

Now here when you are seeing a web page you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and then you will have to click on Share page option. Now after doing this just click on Note and the webpage will import to a note just like a picture. If you want to add any drawing or any picture in your note you will have to click in the space before or after the web page.

How to review a note

Now for doing this after you have recorded a meeting you can always hear the audio clip if you would like to know what where the main points in the meeting. Now if you have marked any kind of notes timemark’s are added to attach any note. Now you just have to open any note where you already have created a voice clip. Now overt here you will have to click on the play icon so that the video starts playing and if you click on the forward and backward icon it will change the timemark. Now you will have able to see a thumbnail for a quick preview while you are moving from one timemark to other timemark. Tip: You can also click on a specific content type in your note, to jump to the corresponding timemark and the audio recorded at the time to listen.

How to share a note

For doing this you will have to click on the note which you would like to share that to only when the notebook is opened. Now after doing this you will have to click on the three vertical line icon and then you will have to select the share note option. Now you will have to select how you would like to share the note which you have created. And let me tell you that almost all the notes are automatically sent as an image. Now if you would like to print the note you will have to click on the three vertical line icon and then click on Print. But yes you will have to make sure that you’re HTC One X and the printer both should be connected to the same wireless network.

How to complete tasks

With the Tasks application, you can arrange things to-do and task lists. You can save tasks on the phone or sync with your Microsoft Exchange Active Sync or even with your Google accounts. Not only that much you can even view these tasks in the calendar application. You will have to click on the main menu icon if you would like to open the Tasks application and after that you will have to select Tasks in that. Now if you would like to exchange between task accounts then you will have to click on the drop down box and then click on another account.

How to create a task

Now for doing this you will have to insert the name of the new task in task application. Now let me tell you one thing if you are creating a task and you thing you will add some stuffs in it later then you just have to click on the enter icon after you insert the task name. Now click on plus icon and after that insert the task details. After all the things are over just click on Save option so that all your work would be saved as per you changes.

How to link a task to a contact

Help friends at a project or maybe an event? In the Contacts application, you can associate a task with a contact, so that the task is displayed on the screen when your friend is calling. You can also filter tasks to indicate which tasks are associated with a particular contact. You will have to click on the text box which you will find under People and over there you will have to insert the name and is all you will have to do while inserting the details of the task. Now if you will let add the task for any of your contact person in your phone you will have to click on the Person icon now after selecting that you will have to contact of the person and then just click on Save option. Now you will have to fill in the rest of the details and then click on Save.

How to link a task to a location

You can link tasks at a certain place so that when you ever again go to that place again then you can check which tasks you can carry out while going to that place. But let me tell you that you can only associate a place with only tasks that were created in the My Tasks. Now when you insert the information of the task you will have to click on the text box which is situated beneath Location and there you will have to insert a location. Now if you would like to identify can place in the map you will have to click on the pin icon. Now you can also move the pin icon to which every place you would like to. After you have finished with all this process you will have to click on Done option. Now just insert the name of the location and after doing that click on OK. Now you will have to fill in the rest of the details and then click on Save. Now the task is designed on the map and not only that much it is also linked with other tasks at those locations. To see these tasks on the map you will have to click globe icon on the main window. Move the map until the red icon with an alphabet “i” (Local Indicator) will appear.

The local indicator shows how many tasks associated with this place. Now you will have to click on the red icon with an alphabet “i” if you would like to see the information of that task. Now if you would like to see your location on the map you will have to click on the three vertical line icon and then select Locate me option.

How to manage tasks

You will have to go the list which has the task. Now you can d many things in the list of tasks like:

• Mark a task complete: Now for doing this you will have to click on the check button which you will find next to the task. Now if you would like to see the entire tasks you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and in that you will have to select Completed.
• Sort tasks: For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and then select Sort. Now after selecting that you will have to choose the way you would like to sort the tasks.
• Edit a task: For doing this you will have to press and hold the task which you would like to edit, now after doing that you will have to edit the task information and then you will have to click on Save option.
• Delete a task: For doing this you will have to press and hold the task which you would like to delete, now after doing that you will have to click on Delete option.
• Postpone a task: For doing this you will have to press and hold on a task which has been postponed and after that you will have to click on Postpone option. Now you will have to also select how long you would like to postponed the task.
• Move a task to another list: Let me tell you this is only possible if the other list is also in the same account. Now for doing this you will have to press and hold on a task which has been postponed and after that you will have to click on Move to option. Now after this you will have to click on the task list where you would like to see this task.

How to view the unified task list

For doing this you can view and update a standardized list of tasks. Tasks are marked with colors, so you can see just to what accounts they belong. For doing this you will have to click on the dropdown box in the tasks application and in that you will have to select All accounts. Now if you would like to see the tasks which are stored in your phone then you will have to click on My tasks.

How to filter tasks

Call the list of tasks to be filtered on. After that you will have to click on the network icon. After doing that you can select the way which you would like to filter the tasks.

How to create a task list

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon from the task application and in that you will have to select Lists options. Now if you will have to click on the plus icon and then you will have to select an account form the list. Now after doing this you will have to insert the name and after inserting the name you will have to click on Ok.

How to manage task lists

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon from the task application and in that you will have to select Lists options. Now over here you can do many more things like:

• Show or hide tasks or lists: For doing this you will have to click on All lists to display all tasks. Now you will have to click on a particular account and then you will have to click the list you want to view. Now after that you will have to click on All lists to view all the tasks of the account.
• Rename a list: You will have to press and hold the list of an account which you would like to rename. Now you will have to click on the rename option and then you will have to insert a new name.
• Delete a list: You will have to press and hold the list of an account which you would like to delete. Now just click on Delete option.

How to back up or restore tasks

For doing this you will have to go to the list which has the tasks you would like to take backup off. Now after going there you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and in that you will have to click on Import/Export option. Now after doing this you will have to click on export to phone storage so that it can take backup all of your tasks, and if you don’t not want to do that way you can also click on import from phone to restore all the tasks to your phone.

How to change Tasks settings

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon from the task application and in that you will have to select settings options. Now after you have finished with all your setting you will have to click on the lesser than sign icon.


How to keep track of your stocks

With the stock application you can receive the latest updates on share prices and stock market indices.

Note: Downloading stock details can be automatically additional charges for data transfer are calculated. Now for doing this you will have to click on the main menu icon from Home screen. Now you can do anyone of the thing form the stock main screen: you will have to click on any item if you would like to see the list of share prices and stock market indices. You can also click on the refresh button so that it can get all the latest updates of stock information. Now you can also click on the three vertical lines to add share prices and stock market indices.

If you would like to change the stock list order than you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and then you will have to select edit option. Now after doing that you will have to press and hold the three horizontal lines icon at last and after that drag it to the position which you would like to keep it. If you select a specific stock price or stock index, you can: You can see the information about an item and its price curve for a given period. Now you will have to click on a different data period, to see the previous trading information about an item.

How to add a stock quote or stock market index

For doing this you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon from the stocks main screen and in that you will have to select Add options. Now you will have to insert the share prices and stock market indices on the text field and there you will have to click on the magnify glass icon. After that you will have to click the share prices and stock market indices which you would like to add. Tips: Now you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon if you would like to delete an item. Now you will have to select edit option when you would be on Stocks main screen. Now just choose all the things which you would like to delete and then click on Delete option so that all the things which are selected would be deleted.
