Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 launched
Nvidia have launched the third GPU which is based on the next-generation Kepler graphics architecture. You will get the improved levels of price-performance with GeForce GTX 670. This model is proposed with a more affordable price of Rs. 29,999. This is much cheaper if we consider look to the features of this card. The GeForce GTX 670th comes is much affordable as compared to its big brother GeForce GTX 680 with the GK104-GPU. This is the reason that Nvidia disables a few execution units and has reduced the pace a bit.
The GeForce GTX 670 is equipped with the GK104 like the big brother GeForce GTX 680. This is manufactured by TSMC in 28nm advanced process and consists of 3.54 billion transistors. This is also used in the latest GeForce card, the Kepler architecture, including all features like DirectX 11.1, PCIe 3.0 and the GPU Boost function is used. This makes the GeForce GTX 670 to the single-GPU flagship not too much competition. Nvidia has reduced the number of execution units. So there is still the full four graphics processing cluster (GPC) but only three of them still active in the full two-SMX blocks, while the fourth one was shut down. Each of 192 scalar shaders SMX units to the GeForce GTX 670 1344 ALUs are left.
The SMX is not only of the shader units. So, likewise 16 complete texture units are built. Moreover, it is compared to the GeForce GTX 680 a Polymorph Engine 2.0, which takes care of the tessellation lost as there are seven active pieces. From the raster engines, there continues to have four pieces. The L1 cache reduced to 448 KB (64 KB 7x) from was 512 KB (64 KB 8x) but the L2 cache remains at a size of 512 KB.
Re: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 launched
Nvidia has left the GeForce GTX 670 ROP cluster untouched. The graphics card is equipped with four ROP cluster of eight raster operation processors, resulting in 32 ROPs. The memory interface is also intact. Four 64-bit controllers give a 256-bit wide connection to the core processor.
Nvidia clocks the GPU, the GeForce GTX GK104 670 with 915 MHz, while the boost clock (the turbo) is on average working with 980 MHz. This may be higher depending on the game or even lower. The 2048 MB of GDDR5 memory is controlled with 3004 MHz. The memory bandwidth is identical to the GeForce GTX 680th with the standard-setting power. The GeForce GTX 670 draw about 141 watts from the mains, where the need for energy will be the maximum possible power target (22 percent) at 173 watts as TDP is 170W Nvidia.
