Having problem setting document title in MS Word 2010
From past few days I am working on a project in MS Word 2010. I want to create documents from templates in a SharePoint environment. I want to set the document Title and file name from the document information panel. I am able to set the document Title but when a user clicks save it does not use the document title as the file name, but instead uses the first few words as the file name. I’ll explain it in more simpler manner suppose if I start Word type XXX in the document click File then Info and under properties Title type YYY. Now when I click save, the Save as dialogue box suggests a file name of XXX. If I press escape and then now again click save, the save as dialogue box suggests a file name of YYY. How can I get it to use the title XXX the second time the user clicks save?

Hi for this issues when you try to type in the title name, click “Properties” then click “Advanced Properties”. Then choose the summary tab, type the title name in the “Title” text box. Now when you click save the title you typed will be shown in the “Save As” dialog box. This will surely solve the problem for you and will help you in your project.
