What are Windows 8 Media Player supported Video/Audio formats?
Can somebody over here explain me the video and audio format supported with the Windows 8 Media player? I was searching for the same on internet but not got satisfactory result and so I am posting this thread over here to have some explanation about this from the people over here. Thank you so much in advance for reading and replying to this.

I would like to tell you that Windows 8 consumer Preview's media player is having support for all the formats which were supported in the Windows 7. There is only one big difference in this and that is updating the driver for the new operating system.

Windows media player is good to use but if you are not satisfied with that and you wish to change to some other browser then VLC will be the best option for you. You will get better performance and better file support also as compared to the Windows media player. Please visit this thread and see the suggestions over here. Here is the music file type:
- Audio CDs: .cda
- Windows Media Audio file : .asx, .wm, .wma, and .wmx
- Windows audio file : .wav
- MP3 audio file : .mp3 and .m3u
