iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
well I was reading this article on the web that mentioned the iPad 4G support LTE on the 700 and 2100MHz bands and this might be the bad news for the people who lives in the UK as the 4G plans there may be might be little afar still, at least the end of the year , however this is been planning for rolling out LTE on old analogue TV spectrum, that can be h pulls in at 800MHz, plus the 2.6GHz band which is previously vacate ready for 4G. it won’t work on our LTE. Although I am not all sure about this so I would like to here what exactly is going on here
Thanks
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
4G supports frequencies 700-2100 MHz frequency is available in the United States of America, but how the case for the rest of the world? Is the whole world works the same frequency like in America's . it is significantly shorten these frequencies in the two main pillars 700-2100 and 800-2600 Mega frequency that is supported by the iPad does not exist in many countries of the world .
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
I wonder why there are different frequencies for communications systems? Why Apple's support does not support frequencies of the other? Why did not hear about this difference in the system of the 3G? Then the most important questions are what are the frequencies available in the UK in telecommunications networks? What does it mean frequency foundation?
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
Unlike 3G, which resides in the same band at the international level, or 2G, which takes place in a handful of bands, LTE is highly fragmented with over 32 different bands recognized. America LTE was employed by AT&T and Verizon in the 700MHz band, but both operators are still sufficiently distant to require different hardware in the iPad - and the UK that the band is full of Freeview digital global television.
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
It is interesting to note that the terms 2G, 3G and 4G have no legal definition, so anyone is free to call them anything they like combined. In the U.S. it is common to ask HSPA + as "4G", and it seems that the latest firmware iPhone 4S even throws a "4G" logo when connected to such a network. In Europe, we consider that to be 3G, 4G with LTE being *. The International Telecommunications Union used to say that "4G" would be more 100Mb/sec, Although the ranges of 4G LTE networks in each country are different, they are likely to follow the same path that once 3G-network and will eventually be unified. But until then, Apple will have to produce different models of iPad, which will support a variety of LTE-frequency.
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
As far as I know Verizon, manages a single network LTE in what is called "Class 13, 700MHz", between 746MHz and 787MHz. The U.S. network operators have been busy lobbying the FCC to require that all devices support all LTE 700MHz bands, but without success so far. So when you buy a new iPad, with 4G connectivity, we must decide if we want an iPad that works on Verizon, or iPad works on AT & T, and if you are hoping to get a iPad works outside the U.S. (or Canada), then you're out of luck.
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
it seems that we get the AT & T variant, which makes sense because it can at least use the 2.1 GHz channel and get a 3G connection. It can also theoretically be used as 700MHz, Class 17, the slot, but abandoned until TNT broadcast that will not be much use. Our non-British readers should be aware that the UK is now moving from analog TV signals and going digital. The most common digital global Freeview is being taken, so it will not disappear for a long period.
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
If we get LTE in the UK, it will be clocked at 800MHz and 2.6 GHz, like other , but none of those used for LTE in the U.S.. 800MHz is synchronized across Europe, and 2.6 GHz is synchronized throughout the other part world, I am not sure to expect the support for the two bands that come to the iPad eventually, but not for a while. So Bottom line if you buy a new iPad now use outside the United States 4G will not supported
Re: iPad 4G may not work on UK because of the Different LTE Bands
Well I suggest that you should first contact your operator for compatibility with the LTE-network connectivity and service plan to support 4G. According to the official Apple website, the new iPad will support the band LTE-networks 700 MHz and 2100 MHz in the U.S. in these ranges runs the operator AT & T, which does not match with the ranges of 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz, currently used by European mobile operators. This means that those European users who are looking to work in the LTE-networks are likely to be disappointed.
