Install .apk files from SD card to Android Tablet
Few days ago I have download an android application on my computer from a third party site. I then put it on Micro SD Card. When I put the card on Tablet, it didn’t recognize the .apk files which I have stored in it. I can only see empty folder inside it. What should I do? How can I install from SD card?
Re: Install .apk files from SD card to Android Tablet
For that you have to get any installer similar to one which is available in the android market place. The name of the app is “Apk Installer“. But before that you also need to enable the device to install non-market apps. I don’t know for this your will need a rooted android device or not but it really complicated to root the device.
If you want to get any third party apps you may go for amazon market place or slide me market place.
Re: Install .apk files from SD card to Android Tablet
I think that first of all you have to format the sdcard and after that using any file manager you can easily install the apk. If this didn’t work for you then there is an alternative way by which you can install .apk files from the computer. But for that you will need adb setup. For example:
adb install /home/vampirefo/Desktop/root_explorer.apk
However if the SD card is not formatted properly, then tablet will not able to recognize the files stored inside it.
Re: Install .apk files from SD card to Android Tablet
To install .APK files on your Android tablet, just follow these procedures.
- Connect the Micro SD card (using an adapter) to the PC.
- Create a new folder on the root called as "apps"
- Put the .APK file into that "apps" folder
- Now download and install the ES File Manager via the Android market
- Go to the apps folder (\SDCard\apps)
- Tap the APK and it will start installing.
