AMD FX-4100 Bulldozer vs Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition
I just come to know about AMD FX-4100 Quad Core 3.6GHz Bulldozer Processor. I am really looking for both FX4100 and a Phenom II 960T. I don’t know about their performance or anything about overclocking capability. I want to choose any one of those for my new computer and the specs of the new PC as follows:
- Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 motherboard.
- 2X8GB Corsair 1600mhz RAM
- CF'd 5770's + GT240 for Physx
- Corsair HX 650W PSU
- Case Corsair 650D
- HD 2 Crucial M4 64GB SSD
- 1 WD Black RE4 750Gb
The BIOS settings are set to Auto. Whats your suggestion?

I think that you should check with the benchmark result while running a game, a video, a spreadsheet as well as chat program. Do not only check the CPU with one thing. In my test I got good result and I have decided to go for FX-4100 for the multi-threaded capability.
Re: AMD FX-4100 Bulldozer vs Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition
The Phenom X4 960T Black is now available in Europe, this processor is an X6 with two cores disabled, but functional, it is clearly a CPU to have. Indeed, it uses a chip X6 but with two cores disabled. Its TDP is 95 watts and so its nominal frequency of 3 GHz. It can climb to 3.4 GHz when necessary.
The architecture of the FX-6100 is newer and fresher and still prefers the old x6 (without detracting from the phenom that is and remains a great processor)
Re: AMD FX-4100 Bulldozer vs Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition
The FX series processors are competitive and cost very little for their cost. As for performance, I say this as former owner of a 960T, with the FX I've seen a difference of 5-6fps (earned) in the game, not counting for nothing just a FX4100 which currently costs less than a x4 960T. I do not regret at all the FX, indeed, I am very happy.
