PCI-E Slot in PCI-E 2.0 Graphics Card
I am thinking to get the purchase the GeForce GTX460 card but having one doubt in my mind. When I saw the specifications then there was given the PCI-E 2.0 slot but I am having the older motherboard which has the nForce 560 chipset with PCI-E (1.0) slot. I am wondering that if the GTX460 will function on my motherboard or nor. And if that will work then will the performance be affected by this in any manner. Please reply.
Re: PCI-E Slot in PCI-E 2.0 Graphics Card
The video card will run without any problem with that but it will run at 1.0 spec. You will not have any prloblem in that manner and there will amlso not be a huge drop of the performance. But there is one thing that you need to consider in this case and that is power supply must hold 24A "Amps" on the 12 Volt Rail and if that is not true then the you will be having problem with 460.

You can purchase the GeForce GTX460 card. this will function on your motherboard and there will be no effect on the performance as well.
