Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I likely to get the message before listening to iTunes, this message can cause iTunes to pause the music and sometimes cause the entire system to crash. Although it does not affect specify.
Only recently I discovered what the problem is, this problem has been going on for a long time. it gets annoying after a while that your music stops.
Is there any solution to this? I've reinstalled my OS, after reinstalling the problem occurs again. Even after upgrading to OS X Lion the problem is still there
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I have precisely the same problem. My MacBook Pro freezes from time to time, so when he observed that he did and then returned to check the console when the system is responsive again sometimes it did not and had to use the power button to turn it off to below At the time of each freeze says "buffer allocation size is equal to zero." I called apple and they had me reset a few things and see my hard drive had no problems. Then they told me call back if it happens again. They think that since the core is related to a reinstallation of Leon can solve the problem
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
Although this question seems to be related to Flash-Player, which also affects the 10.3 and 11.0 versions of the player no matter whether its 32 or 64 bits Additionally, this problem also appeared in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, while many users of 10.7 Lion today seem to have this issue
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I was also have this problem with my machine I used to get about 2000 of these messages per minute and that was actually really annoying and it make my system slow and crawl and spinning up my fans I was have the MacBook Pro 2008 with OS X 10.7.0 containing Flash 10,2,152,26 then I installed the Flash 11,0,1,60 beta and the messages are reduce to about 3 per minute. Yet worrying but I can live with it. Is there anything done regarding this problem I would really like to know this .
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
Yes seems to be a common problem in Mac had you tried Google? If you ask what usbmuxd, that will clarify things. It has something to do with iTunes, looking for hardware or other items to synchronize. If you want to reduce the timing may change the sync off will to help now?
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I recently called the apple probably spent about an hour and a half on the phone. But I had no idea what it was. That reproduces the problem, so I installed Flash Player 11 Beta, though not yet the case because of the computer. Rarely sync with anything with my iTunes, I have not synced my iPod since I installed the OS X lion, which was not even connected to the computer, however, so do not think this has been the problem in fact have thought was have something to do with external speakers plugged in, but the problem persists in the internal speakers.
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I am having this error about every few minutes now and I have just got iTunes running and Apple TV which was streaming content from my iTunes library to the Apple TV . I am using the GB wired network the iTunes library placed on a allocate drive situated on a Windows Server 2008R2 box. Doesn't appears to cause performance that much.
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
System freezes and messages appear. DIsabling FileVault 2 helped a lot, but still freezes. Will be doing a reinstall. Reinstall & restore from TM didn't help. Although stalls are now less severe. Probably other things helped. Not the reinstall. Don't know if these messages and the beach ball are related.
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
My system was not going on to the sleep mode so make sure the Console but I found find 4 of these errors occurrence every instant.
I believe including Gmail or iGoogle open in a Safari window was root of this problem if those aren't running the messages are disappeared. My iGoogle has a Gmail window in it, so perhaps it's just a bit problem with Gmail?
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I'll put in to this, as I am receiving the similar buffer allocation size is zero quite occasionally, as well. Now here's the hold.. I'm not opening iTunes, or Google Mail or some of those things. Mine bowl them out for no particular cause.
The just apps I have open are Safari, the console and Thunderbird (mail). I'll go spurts of quite a few minutes and obtain several a second and later then it stops.
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
I saw one of these messages every time I stared a fresh page in this forum. I did not become aware of this happens at what time I do something else. somebody else can evidence this?
Re: Error message “Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero” on Mac OS X Lion v10.7
Kernel: IOSurface buffer allocation size is zero
According to Apple's developer docs, this error is a debug level #7 or the lowest error code possible. The IOSurface is used in graphics support & not of great significance related to this error in the log entry. Even repeated entries aren't likely to be of great concern unless they are occurring very rapidly, as in split seconds. Otherwise, the processor is perfectly capable of handling the occasional log entry. it doesn't seem likely that the user can do much to resolve the error code as this is mean for developer feedback
Cheers !
