Overclocking an Unclockable Acer Aspire 3820.
I am using Acer Aspire 3820, and I want to know about the Overclocking an Unclockable Acer Aspire 3820. According to this thread, a pin mod is only needed if a PLL shows a "1" Byte 09h, bit 6. As can be seen in the following discussion, there was some confusion about the location of Byte 09h, bit 6. After some discussion, the consensus is that the location, as shown in NVader Darth thread is correct. The 09h, bit 6 is shown here. From its original form I had modified this section and it might happen that you will get some problem while understanding my problem.

Hey, I am also using the same laptop. And when I was trying to reply for this thread, I saw that Asus seems to have the Ram ClockGen G73H / PCIE / PCI frequency adjustment 330.7/100.0/33.3mhz. The stock settings for the 266/100.0/33.3 SLG505YC264BT mhz, so it is almost the same except the ram timing is low and probably not in a proper ratio with the base clocks.
I think that this thing is only flaw with this clockgen that I can see. However, you can still get a stable OC, but not the speed of 3.2 GHz Hendrickson is seeing from 450M. However, this should be easy to adjust for the show's creator, if desired. With this configuration, so that the RAM to arrive at an appropriate speed, the CPU is running faster than it should and probably not

Also I am having the same machine, but sorry because uptill now I have not had the time to test this out yet. If the above reply is right then the original SLG505YC264BT I was using can be edited to the RAM until a better relationship with the speed of the CPU. This should allow more OC'ing. I must also allow the ClockGen SLG505YC56DT Eidt give me more space in the mouth. Maybe you can be equal to 3.4-3.5GHz Hendrickson if indeed you can edit it.

Hi, in my laptop, i set the clock generator itself or used in the photos but want to know how to get the clocks to start from 133 to 160? rather than from 133, as usual?

I will recommend you that While using "Get FSB", you can move slides. Use the arrows top slide. There are two settings boxes, it says "Current" and one says "Select". You will see the settings at the bottom to move to move the slide. Once you are at 160.3, you can hit SetFSB. Then change the "current" setting. That's what the images represent. If this works for you ... Please let us know.

Hey, when I open the SetFSB 2.3.149.115 version and put the two clock generators in your message mentioned the [set fsb] is always gray i can press [get FSB], without giving me an error of PLL, but I can change the FSB with the FSB setting button I tried to move the top arrow too, but still nothing happens. anything else you want me to try and have u gotten a reply for the program creator?

Let me tell you that When you run the diagnostic PLL, you have a 0 in the right place or a 1? You can "Get FSB" in a series of clockgens without error? When using SLG505YC256BT, you get a gray slider that you can not move? Your image link does not work for me. I have to see what is happening there. Could you put it in a web host and link. If the SLG does not work for you, one of the other forces. Have you tried SLG ClockGen definition above 505YC256BT? It's really a process of trial and error at that point.

According me, if Byte 09h, bit 6 = 1 requires a hardware mod SetFSB OC. I have no idea if that is correct or not, but I have a 0 and my unit did not prove OC'able, so it worked for me

I think that You may lack the correct SetFSB ClockGen to work properly with models who can not use 3820TG ClockGen G73JH. So when you select a ClockGen is near, can be adjusted, but is not working properly. I have no idea really, I'm not even in the loss here.
