Rooted devices are being blocked by the android market
Recently I have by one of my friends that google is blocking the rooted devices and few applications also. Is this true that YouTube and Adobe Flash have been blocked? I want know why is going behaving this way? I think it would be not fair that the people who have been using blocked devices but have paid for certain applications will not be able to use it on the android.it seems like android is not that friendly now because this thing as it used to be. It is going to be very unfair for the people who are trying hard on custom ROMs and rooting techniques. Please give any discussions and suggestions regarding this?
Re: Rooted devices are being blocked by the android market
Well I am not sure about this issue told by you. I am still using android market all the time with my rooted device. I am not sure that any applications have been blocked by the google. Please people who have experienced any such thing then please do share in this forum. According to the google they are doing this due to requirements related to copy protection. I think that rootness is all about openness of android. Google has also blocked access to the movie rentals on rooted devices.
Re: Rooted devices are being blocked by the android market
Let me mention that I am not rooted but Google has blocked several applications such as Youtube, Yahoo, Pandora, Slacker, etc. I have re-flashed the device and loaded the new android operating system but still nothing has happened. This is somewhat unfair what google has done. It is something which needs to be talked upon.
Re: Rooted devices are being blocked by the android market
firstly let me know that not only YouTube and Adobe Flash have been blocked but there are many other applications also that have been blocked. the reason is that rooted device allows access to movie file and can be ripped.i would say that if you want to enjoy google movie market then make sure that you dont root your device.
