SD card slot in HP Touchpad
HP Touchpad does not have a SD Card slot. Can you believe this thing? Everybody knows that the HP has released a good and well defined tablet PC which is designed to battle with ipad 2. However all other features are very much compatible to fight in Tablet PC market. However due to these silly things which are lacking in this pad might gonna cause the sale of this tablet PC. What do you say about this?
Re: SD card slot in HP Touchpad
The object is beautiful, smooth, no rough edges, black. In fact, it looks like an iPad 1. But with a thickness of 13.9 mm and weighing 740 grams, the HP Tablet touchpad is a bit bulkier than the first iPad. Since then, the iPad has received a two great weight loss because it weighs only 600 grams with a thickness of 8.8 mm. On the other hand for a pad or tablet PC the SD card slot is mandatory. AS you know that nowadays the SD card comes with nearly 64GB memory capacity. So it would be a great choice if it had one.
Re: SD card slot in HP Touchpad
I see the omission of the SD slot and the non-support of such causes no technical but a strategic decision, with the names of WebOS implied goal to shift to the data storage in the cloud is understandable. Presumably, the future is in this direction and now to think radically and quickly on liquid media now omit the operating system and not provide is remarkable. In the presence of the wireless network outside the home WLAN is unfortunately not as fast, ubiquitous and cheap that I would do without data storage in the system.
Re: SD card slot in HP Touchpad
If there is a Tablet from these or other reasons should not be sensible to incorporate a removable media slot (preferably SD), it looks as if my future sofa computer back under wind and have a keyboard for folding. I think that's a shame, because WebOS and elegant form factor Tablet for all situations without any possibility to store the computer practically fine. There are plenty of PADs with SD slots. The same applies to the USB host functionality.
Re: SD card slot in HP Touchpad
HP will only create massive WebOS equipment sales, if they make the true with the PCs and netbooks (etc.) and have grown fond of a "critical" mass of users WebOS. This could, however, take another 1-2 years, and then the market looks quite different from HP and could be successful in business. In the short term but get nothing, even if they now cultivate the business market, it will adjust to a certain degree of success here.
Re: SD card slot in HP Touchpad
In my opinion I don’t think that you will need more than 64 GB memory for a pad or tablet PC. As you know that usually these devices intended for few computing and mainly for browsing along with some games and multimedia. These all things are ideal for 64GB variants. If you are looking for storing movies or huge collection or songs and images it would be better you directly stream them from internet or from the other external storage devices.
Re: SD card slot in HP Touchpad
Unfortunately, the HP product manager, the print-functionality and connectivity to the ePrint printer online system does not demonstrate the tablet under WebOS. As the memory TouchPad either 32GB or 64GB SSD memory is available - on an SD card slot for added storage HP manufacturer has however omitted. The number of WebOS apps can still be desired - which will soon change, however: On the edge of the MWC met hundreds, according to HP highly motivated Palm developers who want to change soon.
