MSI 785GT-E63 bios not compatible with GPU Overclock
My Question will be simple for you Experts. So please help me with my trouble. The difficulty is that the MSI 785GT-E63 bio is not compatible with GPU overclock. As far as I have seen that the other Motherboards with comparatively lower rates or same range allows GPU Overclock. Why is it so? Is there any solution to it? Also my old Geforce 8300 supports overclocking GPU via bios.
Re: MSI 785GT-E63 bios not compatible with GPU Overclock
Since my past experience, I would uninstalling CCC and install ATI Tray Tool instead if I were you. I recommend you to try ATI Tools and see if you can Overclock a bit that way as you wanted. If you will follow your method then the result would be that it will cause cause heat issues and onboard GPU is fan less which may also cause major damage to your system. If you care for your system than follow as I have said.
Re: MSI 785GT-E63 bios not compatible with GPU Overclock
- AMD Phenom II X4 840
- MSI 890FXA-GD70 : MSI R6870 TwinFrozr II
- 2x 2GB Hypertec DDR3-1333 + 2x 4GB Mushkin DDR3-1333
- 750GB SATA2 HDD : 1x WD 500gb SATA2 HDD
- LG GH22 SATA DVD/CD writer : Coolermaster Centurion 530 ATX case
- Corsair TX650 PSU : Ubuntu 11.04 64bit
See the above configuration. It worked for me and up till now its working fine and smooth. As per your requirements I would like to say that I have never seen that for VGA cards has no overclocking options with any mainboard BIOS. The basis is that it is separated to the main board. It is obvious that there is limited overclocking option for integrated graphics.
Re: MSI 785GT-E63 bios not compatible with GPU Overclock
If you see my configuration that I have mentioned below:
- P67A-GD65 (B3)/BIOS 1.9, i5 2500K @ 4.2 GHz, Cooler Master 212+
- Crucial 2x2GB CT2KIT25664BA1339
- XP Home/SP3
- Corsair TX650W +12V~52A,
- WD Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 32 MB cache S-ATA 3.0, Maxtor 80GB S-ATA 1.5
- Lite-On CD/DVD combo burner
- Cooler Master Elite 330
Here the onboard graphic chip rarely would have adequate cooling for the chip. There is no possibility that it will burn the system out.
Re: MSI 785GT-E63 bios not compatible with GPU Overclock
Its better that you set the voltage, adjust the voltage in BIOS or through AMD software. If possible adjust the VCore. Below is the voltage that I have for my BIOS and set for my system are:
- CPU Voltage (V)
- CPU-NB Voltage (V)
- DRAM Voltage (V)
- NB Voltage (V)
- HT Link Voltage (V)
Re: MSI 785GT-E63 bios not compatible with GPU Overclock
Follow the steps as I advise:
- STEP 1: Go into the Cell Menu selection list in the BIOS
- STEP 2: Allow the Unlock CPU Core function
- STEP 3: Allow the ACC i.e. the Advanced Clock Calibration utility and at this time, you will see the initially two core list will become a four core list through the options of enabling/disabling any of Core 2
- STEP 4: Though Core 1 it cannot be disabled, all other cores have the options such as enabled/disabled
If the cores are not closed productively, the user may try incoming the system in sequence and notice the first dual-core CPU has grown to a quad-core , and the performance has well increased.
