Re: error code 88780078
I suppose the error code that you are getting is not cause of winamp, it means that there's a problem with whatever Output Device you've selected in: Winamp > Prefs > Plugins > Output > out_ds > config. Either change it to match your Sound card device driver or (re)install latest sound card drivers (and maybe also DirectX).

Re: error code 88780078
Hello,
I tried to install directx and installed realtek AC 97 sound driver. still the problem exists. Also, installed sound driver is not getting reflected in the Winamp > Prefs > Plugins > Output > out_ds > config . If take the system information, it says no sound driver is installed or available.

What is your computer specifications? Download a software called CPU-Z, by searching it on google and install it in your pc, which will find out everything about your computer you ever wanted to know with this program that gives you information such as processor name and vendor, core stepping and process, processor package, internal and external clocks, etc. Post the specs of your computer here.

Re: error code 88780078
Here are something tips that you can try out. For that run winamp and then press ctrl + p. Now just double click on the DirectSound output. In that go in the drivers tab and then from the drop down list do not forget to check that your sound card is reflected. It should be listed there. You can check the same from Control Panel also under Sound & Audio.
