Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card?
I have a little problem with my vista the problem is that vista cannot read 16 GB PNY SDHC card? I own the cannon vixia Hf s200 camcorder and a 16 GB PNY SDHC (SD High Capacity) card to record footage onto, along with a Windows Vista computer. My problem is that it doesn’t read the card, whenever I insert the SDHC card into my computer. Is there any software I could possibly download that will allow my computer to read the SDHC card? There is another thing I left to say that my camera also records in AVCHD format is the format that matters.
Re: Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card?
I would like to recommend you that generally card reader have also a capacity to sense a memory limit. Is your card reader is able to read 16 GB card? What is user manual or vendor conclusion about the card reader? I think you are trying a SD [Secure Digital] card Reader to read a SDHC [Secure Digital High Capacity (flash memory)] card. I would suggest you to purchase a new high end card reader which supports SDHC cad up to 16GB capacity.
Re: Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card?
From the discussion going on the topic of Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card? I would like to recommend you that Make sure that you are using XP Service Pack 3 as older Service Pack 2 had showed some similar problems which were fixed in Service Pack 3. If you have Service Pack 2 don't have Service Pack 3 then you can upgrade it for free from Micro Soft Site.
Re: Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card?
I would like to recommend you that are the card a Secure Digital (SD) card or a Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) card? In this case some readers can't properly handle Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) cards. I think so that this may also be the formatting issue; are you sure that this is not the formatting issue are you sure that the format is compatible with the windows? Lastly I would like to check that is there any problem regarding the disk management if you want to check the issues of disk management right click on my computer and select manage and see if there are any issues shows there regarding the format compatibility, such as the drive letter etc
Re: Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card?
I would like to suggest you that I think that your card is not probably compatible with Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) card. While I cannot surely say that the physical size of the Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) card may be the same as secure digital cards. In that case the electronics are different but they are not backward compatible. I would like to personally recommend you that think about purchasing the memory card reader that reads Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) card. It sounds like you don’t read that which is why it doesn’t work.
Re: Vista cannot read 16GB PNY SDHC card?
While surfing on the internet I saw the questions and the suggestions given to you the suggestions are quite systematic but I would like to suggest you that High Capacity (HC) cards cannot read by every card reader. High Capacity (HC) are 4 gigabyte (GB) and above. Card readers that can read High Capacity (HC) cards, are not always compatible with every High Capacity (HC) card, it may only support certain sizes and certain brands. In this case if the card worked before and it is not working now, I think that it may need to be cleaned, but the chances are not more in this that it is dying or it is dead.
