Keyboard characters missing on screen
I was doing some important work till late night and had many applications opened at the same time. I had been working for long hours. Probably, I don’t remember what happened or by mistake what did I type or what did I do, that I got a very strange problem in front of me, being when I typed alphabets, letters appeared and vice versa. It was so irritating and perturbing that I could not solve the problem on my own and I had to keep my work incomplete. Is it a very big problem? Has my keyboard been damaged? Do I need to buy a new one. Please suggest proper Solution
Re: Keyboard characters missing on screen
My dear friend it is not a very big problem and You don’t need to worry much about it and neither You need not even think of buying a new keyboard. This is a familiar problem and can be resolved very easily. Just press the NumLock or NumLk key from the keyboard, so that the numeric mode will be turned off. You can try enabling the num mode to get the keyboard work.
Re: Keyboard characters missing on screen
I completely agree to the above post and would like to say that it is not a major issue. You can also press the FN key and simultaneously press the Numlk and you will get your desired solution. Also update the driver for the keyboard because there are chances that it may have got a dysfunction somewhere. Check your keyboard driver.
Re: Keyboard characters missing on screen
On a basic note I would like to say first check that all the connections are proper. May be turn off your system and start up again after some time. If still things don’t work then , You can try out FN and sroll and it will work. Then re-boot the the machine by shutting it down and just check that it saved the numlock off as a startup, as it was expected to. There may be chances that virus may have made its appearance, so it would be also feasible to run a virus scan .
Re: Keyboard characters missing on screen
Looking at the above posts I find that still the main problem behind such a thing that is not yet specified, although the solutions have been properly specified. However, such things happens because digital lock is activated. The most simple solution to the problem is that you must hold down the Function key, Fn so that you will be able to write in a appropriate way. Also depending on the model being used , one may also have to press the button Fn and shift and numlk. Thus the problem is solved.
