Hey, I have had this difficulty ever from when I installed iTunes on my Windows 7. When Whenever I try to open iTunes from the icon of it then it says me that iTunes has stopped working. I am having the Windows 7 installed on my computer. It was working fine when I was having the Windows XP installed on my computer then what is wrong with the Windows 7. Is there anyone who is facing the similar problem or who know that how this problem can be solved then please let me know about that. I will be thankful to all the replies on that.
Re: Cannot open iTunes with Windows 7
There might be some of the problems with the iTunes that you have installed on your computer and that is the reason that you are getting that problem. Some of the installed files of it may be corrupted in your system. If you want to make that sure then you can try by uninstalling and installing that again and see if that can solve the problem for you. To keep away from the installer error, you can try to install that from a fresh copy of set up.
Re: Cannot open iTunes with Windows 7
Reinstalling the iTunes can be a good option to solve the problem and there are more chances that reinstalling will solve the problem for you. If that is not able to solve the problem then the operating system that you have installed on your computer might be missing some of the files that are needed for the iTunes. So to resolve that problem, you can do the repair of the system. Just insert the Windows 7 CD in your optical drive and boot from that CD. When it ask you for the type of the installation then you will have to select Repair and that will solve the problem for you.
Re: Cannot open iTunes with Windows 7
I have also faced the same problem as you have explain but I was equipped to resolve this difficulty by uninstalling Quicktime as well as uninstalling the entire the codec packs which I installed to see the downloaded movies. Once I done with that then I reinstalled only Quicktime (I downloaded it discretely). ITunes lastly worked over again. I establish this resolution on a different site and it helped for me. I am having the Vista x64, but I think that this will work on the additional operating systems as well.
Re: Cannot open iTunes with Windows 7
Are you the administrator of the system? I am asking this because if you are not the admin of the system then also you might get the issues like this. So ask your admin to provide you the proper privilege and after that install the iTunes once again. Other than this, you can also login as administrator and after that install it on your computer. I hope that this time you will not get any of the problems like this.
Re: Cannot open iTunes with Windows 7
You can try one thing and see if that is able to help you out there. What you have to do is to go to the actual directory from the Program Files folder which is there in the C: drive and then try to execute from there. If that is running properly from there then it will confirm that it was due to bad shortcut. So delete that shortcut from there and send the new shortcut from the C: drive to your desktop. This can resolve the problem for you.
