Where is X icon for closing tab in Firefox 4
I was using the Firefox 3 on my windows xp machine where it used to have a close tab button on the far right side which has disappeared in the Mozilla Firefox 4. Can somebody tell me what has happened to this new version, Why are they changing the such simple features to the complex one? Does anybody know that where is the X button to close tab in FF 4?

If only one tab open in Firefox, this can not be closed. At least with the default settings. It lacks the small x button (close button) and also by right-clicking on the tab, this is not "with tab" close to close.
- The fastest, easiest and cleanest solution is the following:
- about: config in the address bar to type and press Enter
- the filter to look for with browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab
- the value for browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false
- FireFox reboot, done!

Whether timetables, opening times and events calendar, everything is to search the web and find. This, however, you can look on the Internet, you need an application that read on a program window, the contents of various pages and represent. For a long time here was the Internet Explorer is the most used tool, but for security reasons and use of Mozilla Firefox has become increasingly popular and is on the top position to conquer. Firefox has also made the Tabbet browsing acceptable. This means you can reach in and open the same program interface many different sites simultaneously and tabs (similar to tabs in the file cabinet) any page with a mouse click away. These articles can include one or all at once. Only difference between an older and new version of the firefox is that tab has been moved from right to the left corner.

The easiest way to close all open tabs at once is quitting Firefox. With one click, right above the white X on red background, you will close Firefox, and therefore also the open tabs. Depending on the setting and you get a reference to the question of whether you really want to conclude with several open tabs, or similar. They affirm this. You can now selectively closing each tab separately. Tabs, six are closed and stay five face, you can only make this choice individually. In order to close individual tabs, right click on the tab on the X. The tab is no further information closed. The third option would be to close all tabs in Firefox and can only open the desired tab. To do this: Right click on the tab, which will remain open and use the shortcut menu, select "Close Other Tabs". So remove all tabs except this one.
Re: Where is X icon for closing tab in Firefox 4
The big question that agitates the Mozilla community is the placement of tabs in Firefox 4: they are now located at the top rather than below the address bar. Alex Faaborg , one of the designers of the Firefox interface, takes a look at this problem, explaining the issues. He first wishes to clarify that whatever the choice to be made in the end, Firefox will retain an option to either retain the tabs at the bottom or top of the pass. Unlike the choice made by Google to put them up in Chrome, and abandonment of this provision by Apple in Safari. In addition to the perennial debate on saving space on screens wider than high, Faaborg cites four reasons for the choice made by default is to place the tabs at the top.
Re: Where is X icon for closing tab in Firefox 4
The first is simply related to the software design and how it works. By placing the tabs at the top interface controls (previous / next buttons, fields, URLs, search field) will be located in the area they affect, the tab, rather than separated. The interface will be clearer, more understandable, more intuitive. The second reason is the integration of application tabs, tabs containing persistent webapps at how Chrome OS. As they may have their own menus, its own interface, and there is no reason why the browser controls are displayed, place them on top is more logical.

Continuing along these lines to make the browser a small operating system, the fact that the Firefox team wants to delete the preference panels, and replace them with a tab system, also makes the provision more naturally. Finally, the system displays a small notification bubble when Firefox needs to be guided by the user (for accepting geolocation, enter a password, etc..) Also requires the passage of the tabs at the top: if tabs are down, the bubble overlap tab.

The joys of updates may be short lived. Because if you enjoy beautiful new and improved, the interface is generally reviewed when major updates. Firefox 4 which has just come into being on the servers of the Mozilla Foundation is no exception to the rule and some changes aesthetic intervened. You may have noticed, Firefox 4 proposes the tab bar above the address bar of your browser. This is a default setting but you can easily modify. you'll have to right click on blank area of the tab bar. There, uncheck the tab bar above. The change will be immediate and you can find your space.
