Windows 7: Active X control is disabled
Well the title itself suggests what I am going to ask over here. Well I have installed Windows 7 on my computer. I am getting following error message for the several applications which I have installed on my system. Well the error message can be stated as ‘current security settings prohibit running Active X controls on this page or you have blocked a publisher of one of the controls’. I tried a lot to overcome from this situation but all of my efforts were fruitless. Anyone having suggestion to solve the problem please reply me as soon as possible. Your response will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.
Re: Windows 7: Active X control is disabled
Well I think I know the root cause of the problem in this particular situation. This particular problem occurs when Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature is enabled on the computer. Due to this feature many websites are prevented to display some things which are supposed to display by the internet explorer. For e.g. Particular program which needed Active X controls or script which is not enabled on the browser will not work at all.
Re: Windows 7: Active X control is disabled
Looking at the situation I am providing following solution which you can use and see whether it helps you or not.- You have to click on the Start menu and enter REGEDIT on Run and press enter.
- Now you have to browse for following registry key on your system.
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones \ 0
- Now you have to double click on the right pane change the corresponding value to 0 from 1200. Now you have to repeat saem steps for the following registry key again.
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones \ 0
- Now you have to exit registry editor and restart your computer. I think using this steps this problem will no longer exists. Let me know whether it was helpful to you or not.
Re: Windows 7: Active X control is disabled
I think you have to enable Active X controls on your Internet Explorer.- Well you have to launch Internet Explorer and click on Tools and go to Internet Options.
- Now go to Internet Options and choose security tab. Now go to Internet. Now you have to choose Custom Level from Security level for this zone.
- Now go to ActiveX controls and plug-ins and enable all the options.
- Now click on Ok and after click Yes and then click on OK.
Re: Windows 7: Active X control is disabled
Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature construct various security settings which help us to way access Internet and intranet Web sites. It also decreases the exposure to the server which is having security risks. You have to add the website on the Trusted sites zone on the internet explorer. I am hoping that it will help you to solve the problem. Thanks a lot for reading this solution.
