HP Pavilion DV6500 hard disk not detected
I have a little problem with a HP laptop.
The machine in question is a HP Pavilion 6500 with the following characteristics:
Quote:
Motherboard Quanta 30D2
Notebook Type
Type Intel Core 2 duo - centrino duo
T7300 processor model
OS Windows vista home premium
Cache [kb] 2048
RAM [MB] 2048
Hard disk 200 gb
I changed the HD and I put a 360GB from them and all the problems, I formatted the HD and I put the OS but every time I reboot it says "Operating System not found", then look in the bios and there is no HD. What can it be? I thought that HD was too big for the motherboard. but I'm not so sure.
Thank you all.
Re: HP Pavilion DV6500 hard disk not detected
When asked the first reboot after formatting and copying files, the HD is read by the computer? Why else is really strange that it is not recognized only operating system installed! Otherwise you have problems with the motherboard I think a BIOS update? You have tinkered in the latter case for anything that refers to the mode or boot disk
Re: HP Pavilion DV6500 hard disk not detected
This is because Windows Vista creates a filter related to the buffer of the CD or DVD, which cause the unit will not be displayed
- Click the Start button
- Start Search type "regedit" without quotes
- the outcome of the search right click and select open as administrator
- if you asked the password enter it and gives further
- now every one of the folders on your record has left an arrow that indicates whether this expanded or not. press the arrow keys to keep expanding the tree and locate the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

As far as i know there may be many instances of the registry subkey. Must ensure it is in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values.
- Enter this folder: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and the right pane delete the following entries:
- UpperFilters and LowerFilters (high and low filters)
- Registration closes. reset and ready

Just disable SATA in the BIOS. And it works, I tried, I could install WIN XP. But beware, if reactive SATA, well, it comes at a startup, a beautiful blue screen, with all the usual explanation, serious error .... therefore BIOS and disable SATA back. Another confirmation: There is no restriction to change SATA hard disk. Only the motherboard is tattooed HP, this seems obvious, given the number of different models and their respective spec. I appreciated the nice side of techno that was a lot of patience as the routes are pretty bad. So, for those like me, have worries of another install WIN XP on their laptop HP.
