Overclocking Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 CL9 Memory
The three major 4GB Corsair Dominator bolt ran on standard clock surprisingly stable, with timings of CL8-8-8-20 and a Command Rate of 1T. The default timings are initially at CL9-9-9-24 and a Command Rate of 2T. In terms of clock speed of the memory made on the first test system, however, relatively quickly, "tight", which is not exactly atypical for a 12GB kit. Until we were able to run the Dominator 1764MHz RAM stable, with timings of CL9-9-9-24 and a Command Rate of 1T. A voltage increase or the Mount of the supplied fan did not reach any further stroke increases with it. However, we could with CL9-9-9-24 and a Command Rate of 2T on the UD-9 Gigabyte motherboard and 1,800 MHz with CL9-10-9-24 climb even the 1,900 MHz barrier. This shows again that overclocking is not only down to luck, but also to each platform brings with it changes, but also the BIOS settings you need to succeed.

The three bars from the House of Corsair Dominator reached the editorial packed relatively expensive. In addition to the three major modules, 4GB Corsair Airflow fan of the place again as the contents of the package. The Corsair Triple Channel Kit Dominator series has a capacity of 12GB and comes with three modules of 4096MB so. The RAM operates at 1600MHz with 9-9-9-24 latencies of CL at a Command Rate of 2T. The operating voltage is specified by default 1.65V. The memory modules are present in the known Corsair Dominator design. Black, relatively high heat spreader and to an also black PCB. The kit of Corsair Dominator 12GB has a XMP profile. The memory operates via XMP profile to the specified 1600MHz with timings of CL9-9-9-24 and a Command Rate of 2T. In our test of memory, however, could also be easily operated with a Command Rate of 1T. The voltage is fixed at 1.65 volts.
Re: Overclocking Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 CL9 Memory
After testing the triple-channel memory for the moment on the Gigabyte EX58-Extreme motherboard and XFX X58i based on the Intel X58 chipset, and for comparison in addition to the Corsair Dominator modules several dual and triple channel kits made by us so far approached the tests performed. As an Intel CPU Core i7 920 was used. The most important criterion is the stability that was observed with different software. The determined values of the memory performance, we give to others with the popular programs Sisoft Sandra, Everest and to use them. Everything else, such as a game benchmark would be, in our opinion rather impractical for a memory comparison. The results are too close together than that differences outside the measurement tolerance could use for evaluation. The system components were each identical.
Re: Overclocking Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 CL9 Memory
The large 12GB DDR3 RAM kit from Corsair convinces with a high base clock and a good value for money. three major modules are the 4GB it along with the Corsair Airflow Fan for currently approximately 190 euro. The price is certainly very positively evaluated, and finally the customer is rewarded with much to offer. The overclocking features of the three memory modules were good for a 12GB kit. I would like to give a buy rating on Corsair PC1600 Dominator DDR3 for their 12GB RAM kit.
