Does it is a better exempt Temp Folder under antivirus scanning

I need some help to figure out the issue of virus in my system. My computer is now in a dreadful situation. I have apparently got a very bad virus that is spreading like wildfire on all my Windows XP. I think the virus is located in the Temp folder, but I am having doubt on the same. I want to exclude this from scanning. I have a AVG free edition antivirus on my system. I think the location of the same is Documents & Settings / User / LocalSetting / temp. The files are shown in different names or style WE8.dir00 and appartconfig.txt. But I am not sure about this. Does this is really recommended to exclude the temp folder under scanning of antivirus.

I too had the same issue and I found more problem in comparison to you. What happens here the virus in the temp folder has destroyed many of the programs on my computer, gives me the famous message saying Error, Microsoft to report this error. It's really a problem, especially since my antivirus is not able to identify the virus. You must boot in safe mode and scan your full system first. Then remove everything whatever you find. Do not put anything in your exclusion list because this can effect back in your future also.

In my case at first I skipped that folder for scanning. But after some while I I again made the anti-virus scan and this time it does find anything but curiously the problem persists from that folder only. Here what is happening in my system is that I cannot open Internet Explorer. When I open it nothing happens. I have the file rundll32.exe which I had manually downloaded but the same also is not working and it looks that something is wrong with that. If this is a virus issue then why does my antivirus does not detect it. It is simply ignored. I had disabled my firewall recently to play a online game. I even had stopped the antivirus protection as it was blocking the connection. I think at that time the virus has entered my system.

Now you can first do is reboot your system. Then press F8 continuously to enter in safe mode. Once you enter in safe mode you can then manually delete all the remaining files from temp. For that click on start > run and type %temp%. In that press Ctrl + A and press shift delete. Remove everything. Then click on files and folder open C: \ Documents and Settings \ Standard \ Application Data \ Identities. You can also paste this on the address bar of your Windows Explorer. It will open the location directly. Then click on the categories of the folder and delete everything along with emptying the trash. Run a full system scan later on and then check back again.

The way to protect a system from a virus attack is using a protection program. Antivirus programs are designed to operate continuously, so that the user normally is not aware that at least there is a problem. Try using Panda Security. It gives protection against viruses for your PC, on this website are specialists in security solutions for both businesses and individuals. Discover all the antivirus software that offers to help you achieve the detection and eradication of viruses and spyware from your computer. It is better recommended that you scan the same under safe mode. That is the safest way to clean your system.

It is not recommended to skip any folder especially temp folder. This the place all your web files are stored for permanent basis. It is true to say that regardless of the current antivirus programs, some viruses can go undetected and infect a computer system. To prevent this possibility, it is necessary that you must regularly update your antivirus program and you should apply safe practices in the computer. Because of the possibility of viruses, all users must know the steps to avoid them. First, antivirus software must be installed and be in operation, not disabled. System administrators often want to monitor the operation of these programs to ensure that users have not disabled or, better yet, users should be prevented from doing so. Users should be careful when opening files, especially executable programs operate if they are unsure of which have been sent by a known and trusted source.
