How to install HP Deskjet 960c
Last night i just formatted my desktop computer and installed windows XP once again from scratch. But now i am not able to get my HP Deskjet 960c installed on my computer. Even i successfully added the printer after last night itself. The machine had a printer installed. Now it is "missing" (probably because someone deleted it) and would not let you install again. When you try to reinstall the driver gives a message equivalent to "A resource name is already being used." At this point we are not going well because it is not installed (I thought suddenly.) Tried Installing it again and again but the process continues to fail

First of all i would advice you to check the printer cable whether it is working properly or not because even if you have added your printer correctly it will not print anything if the cable is damaged. Either try to test the printer with another cable or test the same cable on a different printer as well as on different computer. If you face similar kind of problem then this clearly indicates that the cable is in good condition. Reply back if the problem persists still.

Try out the following steps to fix this issue.
- Simply Go to Start Menu select Settings -> Control Panel-> Printers.
- Once we are in the Printers folder we would have to click the right mouse button (on a blank area).
- Then Go to Server Properties. Open the window and there you need to select the Drivers tab and "eliminate" / controllers that we are creating the conflict.
- Restart your computer and reinstall the Printer control.
Re: How to install HP Deskjet 960c
It all started this morning, when i was trying to print something but i could not. I uninstalled my printer after several failed attempts to reinstall. I put the installation CD, and trying to install came out the following message:
"The installation program detects that the spooler SERVICE IS STOPPED. CONTINUED TO INSTALLATION TO BEGIN THIS SERVICE"
Then we get a message if you want to start that service or leave the installations, but closes after installation but nothing happens. I've tried it countless times and no results. Then try to install it from "Control Panel", "Printers", I clicked add a printer and displays the following:
"Operation Could not full. The print spooler is not running." Please help, and how to fix this error. My OS is Windows XP Professional Edition, my Lexmark Z600 printer and is connected via the USB port.

I have also faced a similar problem with my printer after a lot of research and installations and which i resolved this issue like this:
- Go to the Control Panel within the start menu. Select "Administrative Tools" in the console you can manage all Windows XP services.
- Then look for the Print Spooler service or its derivatives and stop it once.
- Now try to install the printer going to the printer wizard and it should fix the error the printer should be installed.
Re: How to install HP Deskjet 960c
This error is MOST Commonly Caused by a Damaged or corrupted installation file. This Can occur if You are Trying to install from the CD or from a downloaded file. Hence you need to download the latest software from the HP Web site, INSTEAD OF Installing from the CD, And Then check for Other Issues That Can cause the error Before reinstalling the software. i think that the drivers on the CD are corrupted and hence downloading new drivers will definitely fix the issue.
