Samsung 5.1 speakers, Only two are working with laptop through HDMI
I have bought a HP laptop which has a HDMI output as well. Another beautiful thing with this laptop I have bought is the Samsung HT-C6600 5.1 home theater system. After taking all this things to home connected the laptop's HDMI with the 5.1 home theater system where it started sounding but it was bit disappointing. Actually sound comes only from the two speaker and all the other speakers are just silent. I am so eager to hear the 5.1 blasting sound in my bedroom. Can you guys tell me that how can I have the same?
Re: Samsung 5.1 speakers, Only two are working with laptop through HDMI
I think you need to do some settings on your laptop which might be causing when try to use the 5.1 sound system from it. As your speakers can give sound from the two speakers then it means that there is nothing wrong with the cable which you have connected to use this speakers on your machine. As you haven't mentioned an operating system which you are running on HP laptop due to which I won't be able to give you the proper settings that you have to set on your HP laptop in order to make all the 5.1 speakers working. I guess it would be giving really a blasting sound from your machine so you must give the full information about the all the things which you are using for giving sound to this speakers like Operating System, Media Software, And all the hardwares such as an amplifier.
Re: Samsung 5.1 speakers, Only two are working with laptop through HDMI
I am running Windows XP operating system on my HP laptop and I was playing songs from the local hard drive installed on my machine. I have installed the Winamp Media Player on this machine just for playing Audio file and I am using Media Player Classic for watching the videos from this laptop. I know that neither there is anything wrong with the speakers nor with the cable I am using for connecting wit the laptop. Now can you tell me that where I am going wrong and how can I solve this issue?
Re: Samsung 5.1 speakers, Only two are working with laptop through HDMI
Hmm..Here your problem gets solved. I am assuming that you are playing the music filer by using the Winamp Media Player. According to me, Windows sound setting could be an creating an issue while playing the sound from all the speakers of your windows machine. I suggest you to go the Control Panel from the Start Menu. Once you are in the Control Panel then you have to click on the Sound icon. Now switch to an Audio tab where you have to click on the Advance Setting, Here it seems to be the selected as only two speakers. You must have select 5.1 speakers in the drop down menu and then reboot your machine and check playing the sound from it.
Re: Samsung 5.1 speakers, Only two are working with laptop through HDMI
There might be some third party application as well which might be controlling the sound management of your windows operating system. I have installed the Realtek HD Audio Manager where I can choose the device which can be used to emit sound and in what style Sound should be audible such as dolby digital, or 3d or flat etc. Actually such software are exceptionally used for using the real power of your machine's sound card. Otherwise your operating system may not be able to give it optimum performance. I suggest you to check the settings in the such third party softwares.
Re: Samsung 5.1 speakers, Only two are working with laptop through HDMI
I think you might have not connected all the speakers of your 5.1 sound system with the main receiver from sound will be differentiated in all the speakers as per the port where you have connected the wire of that particular speaker. I suggest you go through the manual of the 5.1 sound system where you can find out the proper way of connecting this speakers with each other. Then you may try to check the connection with the laptop which does not seems to have any problem. After all this you should check about the software which controls the sound on your laptop.
