no more pinned shortcuts in Windows 7 explorer icon context menu
Hi
I am with Windows 7 64 bits ultimate
For the past couple of days I can no more display pinned programmes when I right click explorer icon in Windows 7 taskbar.
I can still drag and drop a folder there without apparent problem, but then when i right click those folders do not appera (only the default: windows explorer / unpin this programme / close)
I have searched and found that sopme people have this problmem bvecause of deleting "isshortcut" key in the registry, iot is not my case
Any idea?
Thanks
Agnes

Re: no more pinned shortcuts in Windows 7 explorer icon context menu
You can try to add Shortcuts to the Windows 7 Context Menu with Icons and for this you have to download the context menu tweaker from below attachment. So after you have added shortcuts follow the steps given below to add icons to the shortcuts:
- First you have to open regedit. (open startmenu enter 'regedit' in search and hit enter)
- Then you need to navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\ in the registry.
- After that simply click on shell to see the context menu items.
- Next if you have added firefox u will see firefox inside the shell key.
- Then you have to click on firefox and the in the values pane right click and click 'new' and then 'expandable string value'. Name the new value 'Icon'.
- After that simply right Click on 'Icon' and click modify and in the edit string dialog enter the path of the icon file.(the file must have .ico extension) and just click on OK and you're done.

Re: no more pinned shortcuts in Windows 7 explorer icon context menu
I finally found the solution on another forum
Cleaning the user directory
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
Will lose the formerly pinned icons, but re-enable pinning
