Windows Live Essentials 2011 (KB2434419) - is it supposed to take all day to update?
I'm running Windows7 on a Dell Studio One 64-bit system. This machine is
new, pretty fast and installs Windows updates quickly. I started the update
for Windows Live Essentials 2011 (the whole package) approximately 7 hours
ago. The installation indicator shows that it's only about halfway done. Is
it supposed to take most of the day to install this package? I've installed
other Windows updates larger in size than this package and have never
waited hours for the installation to finish. The machine itself isn't
frozen...everything else is running normally and I'm not getting error
messages or anything else to indicate the installation has stopped. Also,
nothing appears to be amiss in Task Manager.
Should I stop the installation and start over, or continue to let it
run....even if it takes days?
Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. It started at 5p yesterday and it's still running. It's 1:18am here. Should I let continue or stop and start all over again? Thanks!

Did you notice that the installer is asking how much of the package you
want installed?
