EXPLORER.EXE crashes, then MMC.EXE crashes, then moviemaker.exe throws an error
My PC runs well with Dell Latitude. It is protected by McAfee and this program does not detect any virus, the PC has never been infected. In trying to install IE 8, I find myself stuck. The installation starts (Phases 1 & 2 download Malware Removal and blocks in Phase 3 Installing IE 8. It ends with a message incomprehensible. Is there a place in Windows where I can find what may be blocking the installation, for example a log or a file to monitor? I find that EXPLORER.EXE crashes, then MMC.EXE crashes, then moviemaker.exe throws an error. Thanks for your help.

The consequences of leakage memories can affect any part of the system. You must analyze the memory usage on your server before you add new components. For Windows Server 2000 and IIS 5.0, the minimum is 128 MB, but 256 to 1 GB are recommended for ecommerce sites, or simply very visited. The IIS File Cache is set to use half the available memory by default. On the other hand, on the sites to high traffic volume growth of memory on the first 24 hours is normal. Indeed, IIS cache objects with a TTL of 24 hours.

You need to go Start -> Run -> type cmd, In the window that opens, type sfc / scannow. The installation CD of XP may be necessary. If XP Pro then calls the CD you with XP Home, continue the procedure is a little bug "cosmetic". The fact of introducing the CD before you type the command can prevent this little problem. Insert the Windows XP CD (while still under Windows). Start -> Run -> F: WINNT32 / unattend (replacing F by the letter of your CD drive), Windows will repair the installation, while retaining all your software installation, configuration etc..

A registry key may be defective or has a changed value (not according to the original windows): this may sound strange, but many key is used more than insignificant in the workings of Windows, especially since 2k and xp, as it is developed in object-oriented language with inheritance of classes, but all inherited values are not necessarily useful in this case, deletion of the key can cause a failure to take account of the failure and provide normal use.

For the explorer, it should also be aware that Windows manages the Explorer, the desktop and taskbar in a single process multithreaded. When the explorer freezes, then it is the whole machine that toasts: to launch the explorer in another process can avoid inconvenience, the desktop and the taskbar is run them through a second process . This allows greater stability of the machine to crash the browser does not freezing the entire OS.
To do this:
Open regedit
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer
Create the DWORD value DesktopProcess and give it the value 1. 0 is the default (the processes are not separate).
Reboot to take into account the edit.

Problem with Dll removed by a faulty installation, which leads to a Windows error with sending reports and end of the run explorer (the number of attempts to open the application by windows has been without success), in which case replacing a dll file can be fruitful but does not always apply as modified or substituted, it is better to reinstall everything. if you need to remember something of this post, consider this: the tricks used to solve problems, but they often have symptoms of Windows that has suffered damage, so remember to partition your disk, divide your data to your OS, and make backups of my documents folder, your IE favorites and address books and other mail from Outlook Express, because it may need to reinstall everything to find a real performance, Elsewhere XP works fine and quickly thanks to points of restoration, provided that you are thinking of them regularly.

u can use registry cleaner(reginout reg cleaner), or repair tools for windows.
