Why is Internet Explorer 8 not good at showing animated GIF files
I have experienced this problem and hence, want to know why is Internet Explorer 8 not good at showing animated GIF files? Any GIF file that I open via this browser, is not able to display its animation. In the other case, when I use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, all the animations are displayed properly. I am not able to understand why this is happening. My computer is running Windows Vista.
Re: Why is Internet Explorer 8 not good at showing animated GIF files
You are right that Internet Explorer 8 is not good at showing animated GIF files. The reason is generally the add-ons that are installed with the browser. It makes the entire browser slow sometimes or even does not display images on any sites in certain sessions. My suggestion is to check out if the issue is solved after disabling such ass-ons.
Re: Why is Internet Explorer 8 not good at showing animated GIF files
On comparing the statistics of the users who are working with IE, I have come to a conclusion that this browser works properly in Windows XP and is very slow in Windows Vista and Windows 7. You have mentioned that on trying some other browsers, they worked fine. Then, why not change to any of those browsers, rather than using IE with such unusual problems.
Re: Why is Internet Explorer 8 not good at showing animated GIF files
It is recommended by many experts that Internet Explorer 8 must not be used, as it has many problems like cannot display animations and so on. Internet Explorer 6 was a better browser, but it is incompatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7. Well, all these problems will be removed in Internet Explorer 9, that is the new version releasing soon. Till then, stay with some other browser.
