How to "hide" your videos on your Zune HD
I don't know what is the actually problem but because of some causes, I would not get into, I need to be able to put my videos on my Zune HD without a specific and special somebody stumbling upon them while having to flip up via the songs while riding in the car..
Re: How to "hide" your videos on your Zune HD
I am also suffering with the same issue and came up with a fix but I am just considering that others will share their suggestion because my technique looks overly complicated, but what I found to be a well hiding spot is within the Podcast directory. this is what I have done to solve my issue:
1) The video is to be .MP4 format
2) I have played the files with Mp3Tag program to tag the label to the "Album" specification, it will be the name of the Podcast 'show'
3) Working with Windows 7, I made a right click on the file stored in Windows Explorer, choose Properties, choose Details tab, and within the Genre I type in "podcast" without quotes and click on the Apply button.
4) Keep the file in your podcast directory..

The method that you have described here looks more complicated lol. I just need them to make this an option on "Settings" whether we desire it to show Music, Videos, Marketplace, Apps and Social buzz on the Main Menu . But after going through the whole thread, I can understand that it is going very good and this is very good suggestion that you have given here Mr. Knowle. I will go through this since I have some videos on my ZHD ..

You can also be able to configure a directory that the Zune software investigates about the podcast files, It is just as you can have this configured to look into the specific directory for Music or Videos. It would not restrict somebody determined to get through your Zune for stuff but It can make somebody continue from accidentally stumbling across this. Just be sure that you are subscribed to a lots of or so different podcasts and entitle as your special podcast something boring and looks uninteresting..
Re: How to "hide" your videos on your Zune HD
Since the Zune doesn't have the compatibility with the directories (i.e. Drag and drop), maybe we could be granted to prefix the filename with something which flags this as secured content (or allow a secured directory through the zune utility) and then when somebody clicks on that content, the user is prompted with the quitting PIN password display box or have another one which is particularly for secured content.
I am sure that It seems as just I am bashing again but I have commonly "accepted" the Zune HD for what it is. I use it everyday and enjoy this but it contains so much more potential (software-wise). Moreover, any "useful" property with the team actually implements will tickle me silly!

A password/PIN would be much better for particular content. This would not important to help in my scenario since if my girl friend was prompted for a PIN when she clicked on a specific directory, I would still be among the issues ! but a PIN would be fine for those ..
