How to hide IP manually?

I just want to hide my IP address and I have heard that an Internet Explorer is not best option. Also I am not having much idea about it. I have tried to search it on an Internet but didn't find any appropriate solutions.!! :no: So thought that you guys can help me on this topic. Also I want to know that should I install a firewall or DHCP.? Please provide information related to the topic as soon as possible.

Hide your identity is acceptable if the servers do not want to collect data about you, but if you hide your IP to buy CD's, books or software with a false credit card is a good chance you'll end up in jail, not counting moral aspects. The ADMINISTRATOR of the site could read the logs and contact the administrator of the proxy, and the latter read yours and find out your real IP, then both would contact your ISP and you have your name and address and if you used an account other is yours, at least have the phone from which you called ... there are several plugins that can help to protect your privacy but if you really want your ip to be inaccessible you need some soft to manage it for you, webbrowser proxies are too slow most of the time.
i can tell about my own expirience using a software called cyberghost vpn.
great german software that reroutes all your traffic with a vpn tunnel.
all your stuff is being encrypted btw.
there is a free version and a permium on, depending on the amount of traffic you need.
