DivX Update
I am getting prompt to update Divx every now and then when I start my pc. If I click on the update now buttong then it will tell me that the Divx player update is not responding and then it will automatically cancel itself from the update. How do I get rid of this pop-up which is coming every time when I boot up my computer? Thanks for any replies.

Re: DivX Update
You can try to remove the DivXUpdate.exe from the startup program if you want. All you need to do is click on Start >> Run >> type msconfig and then a windows will pop up. Click on the startup tab and from the give list, you have you select DivXUpdate.exe and then untick it and close the window. After that you will have to restart the computer. Now check if you are getting the same problem again or not.

I would say that completely remove the Divx software from your computer by going through the Add and Remove programs and uninstalling the same program. Best software alternative against it that you can use will be VLC media player. VLC Media Player is a famous open source media player which plays almost all video and audio file formats which are not supported by Divx player.
