PC-6400 PC2-6400 Difference
Hi all,
I am searching the RAM for my computers. Basically i use computers for gaming. I will search on internet and found that there is some specification of RAM : PC-6400 and PC2-6400. What is the difference between them. Any idea. Please reply. Thanks in advance.
PC-6400 PC2-6400 Difference
DDR2 800 is the frequency uses 200MHz bus frequency and PC2-6400 uses 400MHz equivalent frequency: PC2 6400 is a transmission standard. Representative data transfer rate of 9400MB / s. PC6400 memory work as a frequency standard. Common standards are PC5300, PC6400, PC8500, etc. Converted to the corresponding frequency response is as follows:
pc6400 equivalent 800Mhz.

Now more mainstream memory frequency is 667MHz 800MHz 1066MHz for DDR2 memory, and DDR3 memory will soon become too hot. Too early so there DDR1 333MHz 400MHz .CPU frequency and memory frequency, as customarily used that memory speed, it represents the memory the highest possible operating frequency.

I experienced that the equivalent of two DDR2 666MHz 1GB of memory and can not constitute the end result is to use dual-channel a second memory effect is only slightly better after the use of a time in individual cases may not be weaker than if it used with a two more weaker than DDR2 666MHz 1GB DDR2 800MHz 1GB with two provinces so little money was really not worth it. On the past with the Kingston PC2-6400 DDR2 800MHz 1GB, add the PC2-5300 DDR2 666MHz 1GB.

The Corsair DDR2-800 memory module operating voltage 1.9 V, compared to the current DDR1 specification products can reduce power consumption by about 50%, delay time was 5-5-5-12, after the motherboard in the Intel platform, 800 MHz performance test, the 64-bit single-channel mode, to have a second 6.4 GB (theoretical value) of data transfer bandwidth, and a lifetime warranty.

DDR2 is a leading-edge generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data very fast. Ballistix 240-pin DIMMs are available in DDR2 PC2-5300 SDRAM (DDR2 667), DDR2 PC2-6400 (DDR2 800), and DDR2 PC2-8500 (DDR2 1066). To use DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 240-pin DIMM slots and a DDR2-enabled chipset. A DDR2 SDRAM DIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM DIMM socket or a DDR DIMM socket. Information about which memory technology your system uses is included in the Crucial Memory Advisor tool.
