Windows Xp Loads Slowly...
I am using windows xp and these days it cost a long time to load the windows. Every time I start my computer. About 4 minutes. I didn't install any software except Joyfax Server on my computer these days. However, Joyfax Server works OK, and I am sure it doesn't have a virus.
Can any one help??
Re: Windows Xp Loads Slowly...
Your windows system is running slowly may be because of the temporary files stored on you hard drive or may be because of the prefetch file. Delete those files and check whether the system runs in a smooth way or not.
for deleting these files you have to go to "C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch".
And for deleting temporary files you have to go to
Start > run > and type %temp%.
This will open the temporary file window.

The issue could be with the performance of the system. You can get the issue to be sorted well. for detailed report you can have a look to the thread that is Desktop loading extremely slow in Windows XP. You may get proper solution for the same. try out. Hope your system would then be able to work faster.

And then, after the temporary file window is open, what should I do?

After the temporary file window is open, press CTRL + A (or choose from the menu "Edit" "Select all").
Press the DELETE key, and confirm the deletion of everything, including executables.
Click the right mouse button on the icon of the "Recycle Bin" on the desktop, and select "Empty Recycle Bin."
Thats it..

Steps for optimizing your pc
1. go to run and type prefetch
2. ctrl A and delete all files
3. go to run and type msconfig and check hide all microsoft services after that uncheck all other services and "startup" items
4. download ccleaner and run it once a day.
5. download bitdefender and run it to check for trojans and spyware.
Hope this helps...... :ohyeah:
