Word 2010 Crashing in Windows 7
Hello, I have a Sony SR590, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, Intel P8700.
I was using Office 2007 but I just uninstalled it to install Office 2010 (final) available through the university library system.
I also installed it in two other Dell Desktops that use XP 32 bit at the lab I work at.
On one of the dektops, which had frequente crashes with all office 2007 problems, Office 2010 is working perfect. Word, excel, power point are very nicely working.
The other desktop and my laptop do not have the same experience regarding Word. No matter how small the document is, once it opens, you are not able to do anything because the program freezes up, the crash message comes, if you accept reporting the error, it restarts Word and does the same thing again.
I tried to re-install the suite after unistalling it, running CCleaner and restarting the computer, but the error continues.
I read previous threads and went for the safe mode but it was the same. I looked for the template that was recommended to disable or rename it but the freezing kept going.
I am new around here and would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Re: Word 2010 Crashing in Windows 7
According to me, Word 2010 is crashing in Windows 7 because the software still has conflicts with this operating system. I suggest you to check out with the officials whether this software is compatible with the operating system or not. Have you tried to start it in the compatibility mode?
Re: Word 2010 Crashing in Windows 7
Hi folks. I found what happened. My Word 2010 was crashing in both Windows 7 and XP because I had EndNote X3 installed.
I went back to the Univ. IT and they said that there is an incompatibility issue between Word 2010 and X3.
I substituted EndNote X3 by X2 and now I have no problems with Word.
Thanks anyways, and I hope this helps others too!
