I have the Dell Inspiron 1501laptop which comes with the AMD processor and the Windows XP operating system loaded in it. This laptop is around 2 year old now. Now coming to the issue, this Dell Inspiron 1501 will not power on. This problem started two days back when i the morning i was trying to start the laptop but it was not responding. No power at all in the laptop.
You are having the two year old Dell Inspiron 1501laptop which has the Windows XP operating system in it. The problem is that this laptop is not starting from last two days. Make sure that the battery of the laptop is installed properly in the battery slot of the laptop and the charger is also connected properly. So connect both the things properly and try again.
I think the battery of your Dell inspiron 1501 laptop is dead because of which the laptop is not able to start. So i will recommend you to replace the battery of the Dell inspiron 1501 laptop with the new one. Because as you said this laptop is two years old. According to me you should change the laptop battery around 12 to 18 months. So according to me this is clearly the battery problem.
As Carlos16 said, this issue can be because of the battery of Dell inspiron 1501 laptop. So i will advise you to first check the batter of the laptop with some other Dell laptop supporting the same battery. If the batter is not working then its time to replace it with the new one. If the battery is working then there is problem with the laptop or may be with the charger of the laptop.
I think this can also be problem with the charger of the Dell inspiron 1501 laptop and it can also be possible because of the damaged charging port of your Dell inspiron 1501 laptop. So i will advise you check for these to possible reasons for this power issue of the laptop. You can check the charger of the laptop with the other Dell laptops also. So check it out and change that which is causing the problem.
I think instead of trying to solve the turning on problem of the Dell inspiron 1501 laptop by yourself, you should contact to the Dell customer service center for this issue. Although the product is out of warranty period, So they will charge you for that. You can also contact to the local laptop repairing center but it is always better to contact the manufacturer for resolving any issue.
