Re: 9800 GTX vs. 8800 Ultra
It would be astonished if you might locate an 8800 Ultra several additional but it is the superior card, for sure. The additional memory determines to help and I imagine the GPU is essentially a bit stronger in most situations. That said, it’s almost certainly worth it to spend a diminutive additional and get something additional powerful similar to a GTX 260. If you sold your card on ebay a 260 would almost certainly merely cost you an additional $150 and a number of them have actually nice rebates right at present. Excavation was merely $254 and has a $40 mail in refund. If you purchase one at present from newegg I imagine the rebate is still obtainable.
Re: 9800 GTX vs. 8800 Ultra
I would not go everything additional than the 200 series. With prices coming down, why would you regard as the 8800 or 9800 series cards. They are "old" equipment. You be able to pick up a GTX260 for the low $200's and OC it to 280 speeds. Not to declare they are the most excellent for SLI. It actually does look similar to a 260 actually is the superior alternative at present that I have looked at it additional. Even though a 4870 looks actually superior too if I am previously looking at the 260 price range. I imagine be able to be right and I determine almost certainly end up springing for a 260 though the way the price range is looking at present.
Re: 9800 GTX vs. 8800 Ultra
Noise is not a problem for your EVGA GTX260 216 core card. It works at 40% defaulting speed. I utilize EVGA precision to OC it, and merely then do I crank the fan speed up to maintain the card cool at the same time as OC'd. Even then, it's not THAT loud. BTW, several cards you purchase off e-bay determine to the majority probable not have a warranty with it, even if it's innovative. Most manufacturers determine not to honor their warranty if purchased from a non-distributor e-tailor.
Re: 9800 GTX vs. 8800 Ultra
Yes I be familiar with that the 4870 would be quicker but what I am inquisitive regarding is by how much, if the benchmarks are comparable to the 4850, then I presume that gives me my respond. That’s not true. There are no straight comparisons of 4850 and 8800ultra, but in view of the fact that the slower 8800gtx is 3% slower than 4850, 8800ultra should outperform it. That’s immediately plain bull. The 8800GTX has to be quicker than the 9800GTX.
Re: 9800 GTX vs. 8800 Ultra
You have to appreciate that charge is in general presentation, which contains high declarations and AA settings, where 8800gtx's superior memory bandwidth and additional ram helps recompense for lack of gpu power. And do not forget 9800gtx is immediately a renamed 8800gts. Those utilize dissimilar settings. The benchmarks you picked work a small number of games at precise declarations with no/low aa/af, which favors higher gpu and lower memory presentation.
