The issue could be that the application may have some issue with the same and due to the same it is not able to or the DVD drive is not functioning appropriately. So in order to make the things perfect or work out for you it would be beneficial that you check for the thing that is the application that is installed do not have issue. Scan the system.

There is another possibility that the system may be affected by virus and hence this is the reason that the application not able to perform. You need to scan the system using a good antivirus application that is Quick heal which may detect the threat and then make the drive to work with the application as well. So do check out for the thing.

Try uninstalling the application that you have and then check out whether the drive is able to work. It may be that the application has some bug that may be not allowing the dvd drive to work when been installed. In order to figure out that the issue is generally associated with the application uninstall the suite. Hope you may then get to a better conclusion for the same.
