All the devices which are connected to the computer require a set of drivers to be installed on the computer. Drivers act as the mediator between the operating system and the device. If the appropriate drivers for the device are not installed on the computer then the device will not work properly. Therefore check if the proper drivers are installed and working on the computer. To check if the proper drivers are installed and working on the computer, right click on my computer and select device manager. Check if there are any caution signs. Follow the troubleshooting procedure and see if it helps. If troubleshooting does not help, then try and update the drivers.

I think the router has to be configured properly again to make the laptop work with the router. For the wireless connection to work properly the router has to be configured properly. To check if the router is configured properly or not, login to the router and open the configuration page. Get the proper settings for the router from the ISP and check if the router is configured properly according to the settings provided. If there are any changes to be made, do it and then save the settings. After rebooting the router check if the wireless connection works properly or not.
Re: Wireless quit working in Satellite L305-S5968
Most of the laptops face the problem with residual charge. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips. If the voltage of the residual charge reaches a threshold level then the system will not be able to function properly. To clear the system from the residual charge, shut down the laptop and disconnect it from the AC supply. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Release the button and replace the battery. Try connecting the system to the router and see if it works.

Windows 7 has lot compatibility issues with the many of the devices which are available. Due to this incompatibility issue, lot of devices do not work properly on Windows 7. This incompatibility issue mainly arises due to unavailability of appropriate drivers. Go to the official website of the manufacturer of the network card and then download the latest drivers which are available for the network card and which are supported by Windows 7. Install the appropriate drivers and you will not face the same problem again.
