How to create partition using cmd prompt?
Hello friend,
I am using windows XP operating system over my computer. In which I want to create partition using the command prompt. I don't have any idea about how to achieve this kind of process. If you know how to create partition using command prompt, then please let me know that. Your any help over this issue would be greatly appreciated. I am waiting for your reply.

You will need to use 'Diskpart' command of cmd prompt for create partition. Diskpart enables a superset of the actions that are supported by the Disk Management snap-in. The Disk Management snap-in prohibits you from inadvertently performing actions that may result in data loss. It is recommended that you use the Diskpart utility cautiously because Diskpart enables explicit control of partitions and volumes.

There is special command prompt command used to create the partition, and which is diskpart. You can use many option with this command in the way to customize the partition. such as 'list partition' and 'select disk'. The create option of diskpart is basically used to create the primary partition. I don't know more about this cmd prompt command.

I suggest you to use 'Diskpart' command to create partition using cmd prompt. This command supports scripted operations. You will need to use command naed as 'diskpart /s script.txt' in the way to make initiation of Diskpart script. This command is compatible for windows XP as well as with windows 2000. To use this command your system need to be have 'Windows Preinstall Environment'.
