Re: Mac OS X: ERROR CODE -36
When you format a disk to FAT using "erase" pane, it made partition map scheme as a GUID which is used by OS X and not by the Master Boot Record (MBR) which is used by Windows (FAT)
Meaning = error code -36
To fix this problem go to the "Partition" pane -> now Set Volume Scheme to: 1 Partition -> now format with MS-DOS (FAT) -> now click on option and choose Master Boot Record and click OK -> now Click apply -> if it will asked for partition then click partition.
Re: Mac OS X: ERROR CODE -36
You can fix this problem in following ways.
Next time when you move one folder from one folder to another on the PowerBook, just press Option key when you move them -> The option key is used to force the system to copy the file instead of just moving. After moving file, just try to move it from its new location onto the external.
Re: Mac OS X: ERROR CODE -36
If you have Mac OS X 10.6.2 installed in your computer and if you have MS-DOS/FAT-formatted disk application, then you have to use following steps to fix this problem.
First create new folder with any name in MS-DOS drive -> now copy and paste any of the file from your Mac into that newly created folder(For eg. jpg file) -> Now copy that entire folder into your Mac’s Desktop -> Now again Copy the folder from your Desktop into MS-DOS drive.
Re: Mac OS X: ERROR CODE -36
Just use following steps to fix this problem.
First go to application -<> now go to Utilities -> now open Terminal -> now type "dot_clean ", don't forget to include a space at the end -> Now select the file that gives error message and drag it into Terminal window -> Now your terminal window will show path to that folder -> press Enter -> now try to copy that folder to a MS-DOS drive -> this time you will not get any error.
Re: Mac OS X: ERROR CODE -36
This is one type of bugs in snow leopard finder. Most of the people face such type of error message and they are able to fix this problem by using following command. Just open terminal window and type "dot_clean -m ~". After this you will able to copy that folder back to your pen drive. I hope my suggestion will help you.

Re: Mac OS X: ERROR CODE -36
The error is related to a file error. It means the file IS HAVING Difficulty Either while reading from or writing to The Drive The Drive. The file may have been improperly written data to the drive or the hard disk drive Gold May Be Damaged. This Is Almost Always indicative of a media error (hard error On the disk). Sometimes (rarely) It Is transient. For this you will need to check the drive and it can also be a hardware issue.
