Can't connect to Outlook error with Outlook.pst
hello all,
Since few days I can not connect to Outlook. I keep receiving the following error message:
Quote:
Cannot open your default email folders. Errors have been detected in the file C:\Users\....\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the Inbox repair tool, see Help.
I can not find a inbox repair tool? somebody THERE has already had this trouble?
Thank you in advance for the help
Re: Can't connect to Outlook error with Outlook.pst
Good evening,
The outlook inbox repair tool:
Launching an Office application (no matter which one)
Open menu "?" Detect and Repair the first time, do not check the radio buttons (you can do if the first repair did not work, but WARNING: it will re-import all your data), click the Start button.

Hi fab25,
To repair Outlook 2007 is the program Scanpst.exe as you throw?
- Exit Outlook if the application is running.
- Double-click Scanpst.exe Located on C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12.
- In the Enter the name of the file you want to analyze, Enter the file name.Pst or.Ost to verify or click Browse to locate it.
- To specify options for log analysis, click Options, Then the options of your choice.
- Click Start.
- If errors are found after the analysis, you will start the repair process to correct them.
Quote:
A backup file is created during the repair process. To change the name or the default location for this backup file, in the area Enter the name of the backup file, Enter the filename or click Browse to locate the file you want to use.
- Click Fix.
- Start Outlook with the profile that contains the .Pst file that you attempted to repair.
- In the menu find, Click Folder List.
Quote:
In Folder List You can see a folder called Recovered Personal Folders containing default Outlook folders or folder Lost and Found. The recovered folders are usually empty, because it is .Pst files recreated. The record Lost and Found contains folders and items recovered by the utility repairman inbox. The missing elements in the file Lost and Found can not be repaired.
- If a folder Recovered Personal Folders appears, you can create a new .pst file, then drag the evidence Lost and Found in the new .pst. Once you have finished moving all items, you can delete the file (.Pst) Recovered Personal Folders and the folder Lost and Found your profile.

Re: Can't connect to Outlook error with Outlook.pst
Have you already tried by running chkdsk command? and also try scanpst.exe several times, There are third party tools available, pay for repair tools. I believe some have a try before you buy in that it will report as to whether anything can be recovered. You can use the Mail Applet in the Control Panel to add a new data file, set it as default and remove the old data file (This will not delete it) You can then use outlook.
