Re: Restricting Access To USB Devices In Ubuntu
I think you need to disable all those usb connections by using the Device Manager. You will able to get the list of all those usb connections present at your computer. So, you just need to right click on each one and just click on the disable option. So, your all of the usb ports will not work and when anyone connects usb, it will not detected on your computer.

You can do it by simply typing below command on your computer:
Code:
sudo chmod go-x /bin/mount
sudo chmod go-x /bin/umount
Just use these command.
Re: Restricting Access To USB Devices In Ubuntu
I have come to know that The ADM template is used for this sort of purposes. If you use this then it will set the registry value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor\Start to 4 (Disable). So, anyone cannot able to use usb devices on the computer. But, if you have some usb ports which are not installed already then it will not take charge on that and so one can use that usb port afterwards to connect it.
Re: Restricting Access To USB Devices In Ubuntu
I am not having installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my computer and using Windows xp operating system installed on my computer. So, I know the solution for the Windows xp, just check it on your ubuntu.- You can change the permissions of the usb device by changing the registry.
- You can simply disable driver for that particular port.
- You can create that particular device WriteProtected.
